i have just check our workstations and there actually set to use netbios settings from the dhcp server. so i have set netbios over tcp to be off and we shall see what happens.

sorry ok. do you have to put /xibo to get to your admin interface if so: so if you put http://ip/xibo/xmds.php into the web browser of the page you should get something yes? if you dont try just putting http://ip into the client not running a proxy server or anythign silly like that are you?

need to set the server key. its a password you have set in settings on the server

screen shot would be usfull. make sure you are using the root of the so would be "http://ip/xibo"

so you have done the web based setup. can happily browse the web admin interface. got the password for the client set correctly. can actually ping the server from the client. etc? can browse the admin website from the client...

can use a surprising amount of ram if you are pushing big power points out etc so it is worth looking down the linux root.

runs much nicer on a linux box. with apache..

Just wondering what the exact policy is called. As i can’t find it in Security Options. I am running 2008 R2 and cannot find this policy.

We run exactly those. and have no problems in our music room. p.s. windows 7 machines. (if that makes a difference)

Ok next thought: on the computer ou: Computer Configuration. Locate Administrative Templates, click System, click Group Policy, and then enable the Loopback Policy option. This setting alows any user policy to be applied to the specific computer policy...

Could i just make a suggestion of removing the profile form a user and trying that.. i have come across mandatory profiles causing a similar issue.. Worth a try.

This might sound a silly question but are you using profiles?

I know you are working at domain level rather than forest level. but without going into details of how you have set the trusts up etc. (you are correct in saying it should work) just out of interest have you enabled this: ComputerConfiguration\Administrative Templates\System\Group Policy\Allow Cross-Forest User Policy and Roaming Profiles. also do an rsop so we can see whats being applied or whats not. event viewer?
