I think HM is the next aim for me...probably looking at the Wilmslow Half next March sort of time. Gives me a good few months to up the training runs. Went out last night for my first post Wigan 10k run, did a quick 5.8km at a good pace. Did one of my quickest 1km in 5:17 as well

That looks impressive...maybe have to speak to my wife and see if she fancies buying me one for Christmas :-) Some impressive speed improvements on there as well I see :-)

I don't have a running watch :-( I use both Strava and RunningBug when I'm running at the moment. I just use the apps on my phone.

Wigan 10k yesterday, great run, great atmosphere :-) Ran the full 10k, on Strava I timed it at 58:13 for the 10k, my official chip time was 59:07 so either way it took at least 50 seconds off my 10k PB :-) Just got to find my next event now :-)

I think it was called "The things we did last summer" with David Tennant and Billy Connolly....dreadful film, saved by Billy's character....but he dies about 3/4 of the way through :-(

Not been very active on this recently...but been finding running hard work, too hot and asthma not been great either. Went out last night though for a late evening run, managed to cover 7.6km so was my best run since June (not only in terms of distance but also pace and how the run felt). Just under 3 weeks till the Wigan 10k, so need to get out more frequently if I want to do any justice to it.

Morning all, Hope someone can help. We've done a lot of work over the summer with replacing switches and putting in vlans and as part of it our servers have had to change IP addresses. Since the move, our MDT/WDS imaging solution no longer works. I've done the things I know need doing, I've regenerated the deployment/capture shares in MDT, imported the new boot images into WDS but it won't actually connect to the deployment server once you PXE boot the client PC. The error I'm getting is as below... "A connection to the deployment share (\\192.168......\deploymentshare$) cannot be made. Can not reach DeployRoot. Possible cause: Network Routing error or Network Configuration error" I know that the IP address of the deployment server is wrong (it has moved IP address onto a 172. range) but I don't know how to update this at this point? Can anyone help? Thanks in advance Iain

I'm a bit behind and have just finished the first three seasons of Game of Thrones...just need to get season 4 ordered now :-) Just started watching something called Silks as well, which also has Natalie Dormer in it from Game of Thrones, quite enjoying that as well.

I watched "AfterEarth" last night starring the Will Smith family. All a bit predictable for me, not particularly great. Wouldn't bother watching it again.

My asthma is generally under control, but during the hayfever season I definitely feel it so i don't see it as worth the risk. Got out again last night in a break in the rain :-) 5.9km in 37 minutes, including warm up and down walks (5 mins of each) so pretty pleased with the pace and again just glad to get out. The humid air is doing nothing for me either, I am sweating utter buckets after running at the moment....so bad that my wife won't let me sit down when I get back in!!

First run back last night, been a good few weeks due to it being hayfever/asthma season and then I hurt my back :-( 5.7km pace of 5:58 per km. Tiring, but happy to be back :-)

Lol, yeh....that actually is reducing it as well by 2/3 switch locations. I suppose on a technicality we only currently have about 12 cabs (some of our switches are literally screwed to the wall), but these are being replaced with proper cabs :-) these 17 cabs also doesn't include our main comms room or our server room!

Quiet one this summer... We've already had done.... Running 17 new fiber's and replacement of 17 network cabs with some re-organising of the network through the installation of new network points Tidy out the server room and all other network cabs by removing old cables that are no longer used (it is frightening how much cable I've pulled out in the last couple of months!) Still to do.... Replace all switches (approximately 30 new switches being installed), with Vlan's being configured to separate out the network. 93 new PC's to install Move round lots of other PC's (about 6 IT Suites being moved around) All PC's in school to be reimaged Office 2013 Ruckus wireless being installed (points have started to be installed) I'm sure there is more to do that I've forgotten.

Today is our last day! Can't wait for the students and staff to be gone now! So much to do, and can't do most of it until they all leave!!

Hi all, I'm looking at setting up Office 2013 to deploy through GPO. Trying to run the Microsoft Office Customisation Tool, by opening a CMD prompt and typing setup.exe /admin and the tool begins to open. I select which product I want to customise and I get the error "Bootstrapper has stopped working" and it closes. Anyone else seen this? How did you get round it? Thanks in advance Iain

We have a system in place that automatically generates staff user accounts (umra) and the accounts are only created on the start date of their contract. So therefore we cannot provide this until they start.

Ran something a bit different last night :-) It was called "Round the Resers" and was in Tintwistle near Glossop. Approximately 300 people, running round a reservoir. Very picturesque and great fun :-) 8.2km (5 miles) total distance, consisting of 2 laps of an off road course with 1 killer hill (which obviously you have to run twice!) and a bit more undulation. Finishing time, by my watch, approximately 50 minutes 30 seconds which is only a couple of minutes outside of my regular road 8km, so I was pretty pleased with the time :-) Given all my running up to this point has been road running it was a nice change to do something a bit different. Only disappointment was I was lapped as I was about 100m from finishing the first lap and also that I didn't finish in the first 200 (the first 200 finishers won a mug!), but on the positive side, I ran the whole thing (in what was a very different run for me) and was pleased with the finishing time :-)

Agreed with @sted in that it all depends on what you want to use them for (what is the purpose of the devices?). We're doing something similar and we're currently canvassing our staff to try and establish what device will fit their needs (staff questionnaire produced, and directed time is being used for staff to complete the questionnaire). I do believe it will end up being either a Windows tablet or an iPad though (rather than an Android). Although managing the iPads can be a bit fiddly, at least during the initial setup, I believe it is going to get easier when they release ios9. Someone posted a link to the changes a couple of days ago. Will be interested to see what people recommend on here though.
