I've watched a couple of films in the last few days. LAst night I watched "Of Mice and Men" with John Malkovich and Gary Senise (excuse spelling). This was a great film, really enjoyed it. Over the weekend I watched "To Kill a Mockingbird" with Gregory Peck. Thought this was a little slow to get going but the courtroom scene was amazing. Missed a few key scenes from the book for me as well, but enjoyed it anyway :-)

That's a great effort :-) Well done! As said in the post above, find yourself a local Park Run. They're really really good. The people are really welcoming, it's not competitive and everyone wants you to do well. Even if you can't run the whole thing, there is nothing wrong with walking and running it and you will get unbelievable support all the way round!

Evening all, hoping someone can help me. My stepson's HTC desire 500 phone has lost all the files in his note app. Everything else seems to work ok, photos, apps, contacts etc just his notes with an issue. Has anyone got any ideas on if they can be recovered/found anywhere? Thanks in advance Iain

We've got 9 or 10 pay as you go phones that are used for trips/offsite visits etc. Staff book them out as required, we check balance before and after the trip and then charge the amount used to the trip/department (at least in theory). Phones are very basic, calls and texts only. Staff of a certain level have school phones on contract.

Managed to get out for a quick run last night. Just 5.6km but run at a nice quick pace :-)

Had a bad weeks running, for various reasons, managed to get out for my longer run today though and covered 12.4km :-) longest run so far and pretty pleased with the pacing/splits as well (averaging just under 9 minutes 30 seconds per mile).

I've got a balance bike for my 2 year old at this point. For the 13 and 16 year olds we're looking at getting various people to combine to get them a laptop each

Had a good weeks worth of running last week, first week in a while where I've covered over 20km in the week :-) Steady 8km on the Tuesday Good 5km at Park run on Saturday (just 4 seconds off a pb) Good paced 7.5km on Sunday :-) Celebrated by spending a fortune on some new running shoes :-)

This is the only thing I noticed that might possibly be Luke Skywalker. Lots of interesting theories doing the rounds as to where he might be :-) Might be a bit over excited now with under 2 months to go!

I'm really fortunate in that I live pretty much at the end of the old British Aerospace site in Woodford (where all 136 Vulcan's were built) so we got a great view of it on Saturday :-) apologies, but I only had access to the cmaera on my phone

Well I've only gone and done it....signed up for my first Half Marathon, The Wilmslow Half Marathon on April 3rd next year!!

This is interesting...I've been told that the Vulcan is making an appearance at Woodford (where I believe it was first built) this Saturday :-s

And now just entered the winter series 10k again in Manchester for the end of February :-)

Just entered the Great Manchester run for next May :-) plenty of time for training, want a really good time. Need to find some more events though for between now and then :-)

I think you're right, this is what we've looked at doing but it would be a "no email for anyone" (I suspect they'll want it still available for certain people such as the safeguarding person). I think all you'd achieve is that email would go "underground" and people would use their personal addresses instead. This doesn't solve the actual issue, I think the school need to look at how the school works.

I think you're right, that it's not possible. We did look at stopping the transport service each night on a scheduled task, but it's not a particularly good solution I don't think. Thanks for coming back to me :-)

I think this is one of the oddest requests I've ever had..... Our headteacher would like us to stop all email being sent between certain hours (let's say between 6pm and 7am). Between those hours, if someone writes an email and clicks send then it should be queued until 7am comes around. Does anyone have any ideas? Is this actually possible? Thanks in advance Iain

Went out again last night got to about 2km and felt really good so (to quote Forrest Gump) "I just kept running"....did my longest ever run :-) Clocked up 11.2km in about 1hr 5 minutes...set new PB's in all sorts of distances. New 5km pb, new 10km pb, new half mile pb, new 1km pb :-)

Managed to get out for a ParkRun on Saturday morning...not my best time at 28 mins 31 seconds, but like being out nice and early, set me up for a really good day :-)

It's pretty flat I think, it certainly tends to be where most of the people around me do their first HM as it's known for being good for beginners (I think).
