SLG is coming end of life, being replaced by a new Parent and Student app, take a look at them. For staff Capita also do the Teachers' app but we scrapped it as our staff found it too fiddly and doesn't work on iPhone...?!!?

This is what stumped me as far as UBNT where concerned UniFi "won't" pass the framed ip address packet to accounting servers, from various forms I read it was "too difficult"! However I have had success in getting it working but I'm not entirely sure how! (I've tried a couple of different approaches) but at present I've set Smoothwall as the accounting server and the NPS servers for auth. I need to investigate more over the next two days so will keep you posted.

Not for us as the hotkey/physical switch continued to work regardless of GPO settings. (Note this is Windows 10 its effecting)

So I've found a workaround, for reference if anyone is in the same boat as I was. I found two devices on my Dell laptops called Airplane Mode Switch and Airplane Mode Switch Collection, disabling these devices cease the function key/wireless switch from toggling AirPlane Mode!! The next tricky problem was disabling them en mass, the simplest solution I came up with was using Device Manager Viewer from Nirsoft Alternative to device manager of Windows. I then used the following two commands to disable the devices on our affected laptops. devmanview /disable "Airplane Mode Switch" devmanview /disable "Airplane Mode Switch Collection" Bingo, the switch/hotkey is now disabled, halaula! Not the "correct" solution sure but it works reliably!

Oh I have and laughed, hard! Will definitely get a couple of units to assess if there is a case to upgrade from UAP-Pro (n), getting the feeling it won't be hard justifying (hopefully)

RRP $349 is a big jump from there other kit...

We've had this complaint in the past, personally like a lot of you I auto silence my phone at night. We did pass that advice onto the parent which went down ok... But it I think being able to specify a delivery windows would be a good addition. Ditto over the past couple of months we have seen some very pore service, with alot of outages come Monday morning which was frustrating the office staff chasing absences. Touch wood, all has been quiet these term. +1 voted

Google have a free vending machine in the main lobby area outside the show dishing out Google Cardboard if you send a tweet #GoogleExpeditions or #Bett2017, think it's suppose to do it automatically but the guy keep having to press the button.

Thanks @SW_DavidNewton, I need to check if UBNT Unifi forward the Framed-IP-Address attribute in the accounting packet as apparently that is a show stopper..

They are use to a seamless experience so that wouldn't go down to well, and surely SW can work out the user from the accounting information? Another reason to switch is we've been having roaming issues with UniFi and Smoothwall radius, I think it something to do with lack of fast reconnect support but I cannot get to the bottom of it to be certain.

I want to control who connects to which wlan and on which devices which I can with NPS, just need to work out how to pass that information onto Smoothwall for seamless authentication.

@rjs_essex Did you find a solution for forwarding accounting info to Smoothwall but still maintaining NPS for auth with its extra flexibility? Rob

Did you find a solution @_techie_ , want to switch to NPS as Smoothwall RADIUS is causing is roaming issues, plus I want more control that NPS has.

Doesn't help as they are using the hardware key! Windows 10 doesn't honor the BIOS setting to disable the airplane mode hotkey as it had done previously in Windows 7. We set it to only turn bluetooth on and off not WLAN but its completely ignores it. I think it's possibly a driver issue with the button and the OS.

Which setting as I don't see one applicable? (Will double check I'm on latest ADMX templates)

This is still an issue in Windows 10 Did anyone find a solution?

Interesting I'm running 3.7.27.5440 which is newer and seeing the issue on AP-Pros....

@caffrey No issue with RADIUS auth and Smoothwall on that version?

I think I'm suffering with this issue on the 3.7.27.5440 firmware on both AP-Pro's and AC-PRO's, what diaganoises did you do to check? Do you experience this issue with the AC-Pros? Rob

We use it, the Java launcher is a pain in the butt but I have a workaround which I shared with TLC. In a nutshell we use AppLocker to restrict applications that our users can run, With that then allowing users to install the plug-in themselves becomes a nightmare to work out all the exceptions needed. So what I discovered is if you run the installer using the following command, msiexec /a "\\pathtofiles\BlackboardCollaborateLauncher-Win.msi" TARGETDIR="C:\Program Files (x86)\Blackboard\Blackboard Collaborate Launcher" /qn it will then install the plugin into program files instead of users appdata folder, which we restrict. I then had to correct the file association so when they click on the .collab file it opens in the plugin install. This was done using group policy, see screenshot. Finally, even though I had installed the plugin into Program Files it still copies and lunches Java from their local appdata folder (why, lord knows!!) so in AppLocker I had to put the following exception in. %OSDRIVE%\USERS\*\APPDATA\LOCAL\BLACKBOARD\*

Spin up a test VM, be interesting to find out.

Just a thought, but could you not create one account for workstations and another account for servers and just pay the premium on that account? I know it won't be integrated together and you end up with two separate accounts to manage but you do have separate server policies anyway, just make sure you get the alerts emails for both on the email address for monitoring. *Not sure if this is allow though but just thinking aloud.* More than happy with the free edition on our server

Viso is my choice but sketchup layout is another option.
