  1. if you have a mac server then you can always use profile manager to manage the iPads. if the iPads are lost then you could remote wipe them with the iCloud feature and iCloud lock them so that nobody can you use it again that is what i would do.
  2. Can the computers in question get to the windows update at microsoft we had this problem and it was us blocking the website for it to download the required files?
  3. I would just go around to every point and just check also check that there isn't a loop within the switch if you have spanning tree then turn it on but it might slow down the network as it puts more load on the switches.
  4. is there a loop on the network as this can cause the network to stop and grind to a halt. i would check that we had this at one of our school as the switches were that old.
  5. HAs anyone had the above printer working on airprint natively i have enabled it and it not showing on the iPads any ideas what this could be as it should broadcast over the bonjour which is enabled and configured Thanks
  6. hi Was wondering if someone could send me a copy of there auto discover xml so i can see how they are configured. when I authenticate with a phone it uses the email address as authentication and connects fine, but when i use outlook to connect it is using the local account that doesn't belong to the domain when i want it to use email address as the authentication as i cannot get outlook to work or even load. just wondering how other do it on personal laptops at home?.

  9. We moved away from staffs ICT about 10 years ago and broadband about 7 years ago and install our own voip system. We also do our own filtering. We have also converted 5 primary schools that we not look after and all there services come through to use. We still pay the county for sims support and the upgrades just incase something goes wrong then they can help. to start off with it is a big thing but in the long run you have far more control over your network and what you can do.

  11. Hi A school is after a school calendar within outlook to be shared with the whole staff. i have never done this and wondering which is the best way to set up a shared calendar for the whole school, any ideas on how to do this would be great we are also using exchange 2010. Thanks Nathan
  12. We did this about 10 years ago at the high school i am at, then we also did the same down 5 local primary school. We just took on thing at a time decommissioned the services one by one, then transferred them to the new server. We used Hyper V and installed a separate server for main roles e.g.: DC1, email, build server, File store, Print server, etc. The main thing to watch out for is testing the software that you have now will work with the system that you are putting in place. if you want any advice give me a PM
  13. Hi i have recently made a balls up and order and aruba ap-105 and i need a iap-105 because i have no controller just a virtual controller (I am new to aruba always used ruckus). Was wondering if anyone had one of these access points for sale to help me out. Thanks Nathan
  14. okay will check the other ones tomorrow?, Is there anyway of booting it up in standard alone mode as it doesn't boot or does it require the controller to download the OS or could i install the OS manually and boot it up that way?
  15. The model number is AP-105 that is what it says on the back anyway if it is a IAP does it say IAP-105 instead??
  16. where can i find this out?? is it the model number??
  17. it is via the Cli that i have connected via the console connection and i have tried to download the firmware and register for aruba they said i got to get a support contract for one access point, plus that might not even fix it?
  18. this is my problem because the school that we have taken over has aruba we have ruckus i cannot find the firmware anywhere for the one access point that we need to join to the others to download it or down grade it. When the access point boots up it comes up with Checking image @ 0xbf100000, Invalid image format version: 0xffffffff. Is this normal or not?
  19. I have reservations set and that is all correct and the dans is set and the aruba master is set to the virtual controller in DNS. it grabs the ip that i have told it to grab but then when i try to ping it i get nothing, even when connected to the Cli of the access point i cannot ping something that is alive it will return it is not alive when i know that it is. is it worth me download the firmware and aruba OS stand and seeing if that solves it or should it pull the aruba os on the virtual controller?
  20. the access point eth0 is up and it grabs the ip that i have specified just wondering what are the next steps i can take
  21. 22. Still use WSUS at all the sites we manage via sccm handy tool
  23. Plus depending on you zone director version is running because buying new one might not work with that version of firmware that you are running. Also if you upgrade your firmware to the new versions then the older access points sometimes don't work and recognise the zone director. just so you are aware of these problems to
  24. We have a fortigate box that is our firewall and router that pulls the user accounts that are logged on, then logs all the traffic against that then we use forti analyser to create reports. This also allows you to see what they are actually searching for on search engines that are encrypted to this is how we monitor the kids. This isn't not a cheap option but this is how we have got around it. We tried squid and it didn't do what we wanted so had to look for alternatives and this is what we did.
