  1. If you log in as 'rangerremove' then the password it will remove it all. Similarly to install Ranger log in as rangerinstall. Make sure you get it off all clients before removing it from the server.
  2. Thanks It seems to work with CamStudio
  3. One of our teachers put together a movie for open evening using 'mySlideshow gold'. Not a bad effort I have to admit. However, the Head Teacher would like to include it in a powerpoint, but the only file available is a .exe. Anyone know of a decent free piece of software that will capture the move, including sound in a format that can easily be used in powerpoint automatically without having to click on the original movies menu.
  4. Trying to save myself some time here Anyone got a copy of a damage report form that staff fill in when IT kit is damaged? We need it for things like dropped laptops and handhelds in particular. Many thanks
  5. Sounds like my job here 30K ????? I wish!!!!! SO2/SO1 around here is about 21 - 27K.
  6. All the best Mark Pop in now and again just to pee the rest of us off
  7. A Sony DCR-SR52E has a 30GB HDD and is very easy to use. We got ours from here with a LCS VA30 case and tripod for about £377. I think the camera was about £328.
  8. I agree with the critics - a bit cartoonish for the site and doesn't look professional. As a Teeshirt logo it works fine. The site at the moment has that 'Corporate feel' to it. If the new logo is to match the look of the new site then I would have concerns about the professional look being compromised. If the new site scheme is similar to this one then the new logo would look out of place.
  9. Success Thanks to all those that signed and supported the petition. It seems it wasn't required at the end as the people who opposed the plan failed to turn up to the public meeting so the plans were passed by the council
  10. Try Coppermine. Best run on a Linux server but can be done on windows using WAMP.
  11. Wasn't sure whether to post this here or in the FFS forum as the story below makes me sick with anger. :x I know there are a few Ex Servicemen here who will support this but can I ask those that are not to sign the petition using the link at the botton of this post. It speaks for itself really. Thank You Nimby neighbours' war with wounded soldiers' families By MATTHEW HICKLEY and DANIEL BATES It is often the first port of call for servicemen and women returning home after being wounded in Iraq or Afghanistan. Soldiers who may have lost limbs or suffered severe trauma spend months rebuilding their lives at Headley Court military rehabilitation centre. But when an Armed Forces charity decided to buy a £ 1.7million six-bedroom house nearby so visiting relatives would have somewhere to stay, the well-heeled neighbours in Ashtead, Surrey, launched their own offensive. The Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association, which has applied to the local council to to make some alterations at the property, including installing a wheelchair ramp, had been hoping for no objections. After all, Headley Court had been part of the area for more than 60 years. But residents apparently do mind. They have flooded the council with almost 100 letters of protest, raising every conceivable objection to the new property being used to house families visiting soldiers. They claimed 'additional noise' and 'huge amount of additional traffic' would ruin the peace of the private lane and warned that the value of their multi-million-pound properties would plummet. The families 'would not be welcome', they said, and their arrival could 'destroy the character' of the area. One resident even objected on security grounds, claiming the house could become a terrorist target, while another suggested wheelchairs would present a fire hazard. Planners at Mole Valley District Council will consider the case on August 1 but last night serving soldiers made their views clear. One Army officer recently returned from Iraq told the Mail: "They make me sick. It's just staggeringly selfish. "Perhaps these people would care to come out to the field hospital in Basra and tell some young soldier having his leg amputated after a [bomb] attack exactly why his family isn't worthy to rub shoulders with this bunch in their Surrey village. "Who do they think they are? Do they have the slightest clue about the sacrifices-young soldiers make on their behalf every day? Shame on them." SSAFA spokesman Athol Hendry said: "These people should be ashamed of themselves. This level of hostility is incredibly disappointing and frankly astonishing. "If you've just got back from risking your life in Iraq, you've lost two legs and you learn your young family are not welcome near the hospital where you're being treated - what kind of a message is that?" When the Mail tried to speak to residents, none would be quoted. Residents' association chairman Malcolm Webb, a 58-year-old oil executive, denied residents were 'nimbys'. "This is just the wrong place and the wrong property," he said. "Some are concerned - in these awful days when these ghastly terrorists go after the softest targets - about the security situation." http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/Headley Please pass the word amongst friends, relatives and any other forums you visit. Again Thank you.

  14. The brochure doesn't actually say whether they are SCORM complient or not, but they plan to have all of their titles available as a VLE, currently moodle with others to follow in the future. Current VLE titles are: ICT Framework Solutions Live ICT for You EXP Maths 7, 8 & 9 Scientifica 7, 8 & 9 Voila 1,2 Rigolo 1 Other than the usual blurb it tells me nothing else. Our ICT Co-ord is only considering it at the mo so I'm not in panic mode yet
  15. 86 Views and not one reply Does this mean we may be guinea pigs for this VLE stuff? (Oh bugger!!!!!!!!!!!)
  16. There have been some post about Nelson Thornes software but I need opinions on their VLE content software. Is anyone using it? What problems have you encountered (if any) On paper it looks useful until the name Nelson Thornes starting ringing alarm bells, so feedback would be welcome.
