Hi there guys Even I have just updated our website from html, which only one person that doesnt work for the school had to be contacted just to update it. We are now using Wordpress, I find it's a pretty good system. But I have found a lot of things that cant be changed easy. For example if I wanted to change the layout of the website, I cant without some knowlege of php, which I dont have. So I have been trying out Sharepoint 2010. This way only people I give rights to, can change and update the website, just like wordpress. So its not back down to the one person job. Ok some questions How do you think I should set out the website? Like it is now, with the student, staff, parents caterorys? Was thinking of a left navagiation menu and possiblely getting someone to make more like icons like this to navgate through the site instead of menus (Will have a title under the icon too) Comic iPhone Icons: Graph Icon How easy would it be to create a logon page with a username and password box for each of the sites everyone use This would be Exchange 2007, Remote Desktop Web, Moodle, My Maths, Accipio Learning, Sam Learning (Think that is it) So if possiable have a dropdown box which you can select what you want to logon to and then enter the username and password for that site is the logon boxes

Hi there guys Ok I have created a 2008R2 VM to test with Sharepoint But im having a little problem externally How can I make Sharepoint Designer work externally? (works fine internal) This error happens when I try to edit a webpage, even a new one I create soap:ServerServer was unable to process request. ---> Value does not fall within the expected range. Any ideas guys? Is there different ports I need opened? I have only got TCP80 opened Im only running by its ip address at the momment, is that part of the problem?

Quick question, on what you do for this guys What do you do for all these education discs teachers use? Ie collins science ks3......... Everytime we have to reload a staff laptop, the teachers have to reinstall it Do you think it best to make a shared folder, maybe for example called education discs, then a folder for each department and then put all the what ever disc it is, in its own folder with the correct name. Or the same has be but just put into the existing department shares folders. Then by rights the staff shouldnt need to install any software (I think that all the soft of stuff, staff they normally install) How do you guys do this then?

Ok know this thread is old But just started to do some work on this (Totally forgot about trying this out) Ok what I have done Had a vista teacher's laptop that had to be reloading due to some problems Imaged the laptop with windows 7 On the image I have a local man profile I have blocked the staff laptop OU that I just created, so it doesnt get any other policy Staff still have their restructions they have on desktop (basiclly nearly the same has students) Profile will be cached on the laptop Setup the offline files: Administratively assigned offline files - Enabled, set to mapped 'O:\' Network Drive Allow or Disallow use of the Offline Files feature - Enabled Anything I missed out here? Staff cant get to control panel, has I blocked this, anyway they can get to the sync panel to check, or do you think that is not needed? I like the idea of making then you remote desktop to the school (we have that running anyway) Only thing I'm thinking is that what about if some of the staff dont have Internet at home or their Internet goes down and they cant do work because of that Ok some questions When they get home will they still have all the restrictions that was set from group policy? Is all the setting saved/cached in the profile? Also what about the mapped drive? Or will I have to find the registry keys and set them to load when they log in? Suppose I best set up a laptop and bring it home to complety test it out

Why not use group policy for deploying printers and dely being able to add printer, again through group policy

if it needs drivers it will uninstall and deltet during sysprep, so you should be fine

another idea you could do Make your scope on the old domain a bit smaller and that way you can get a scope running on the second domain, has you have some spare ip address
