Been told to renew our website, wanted to do this anyway Now I have been given the latest school policies to be uploaded. I have looked at the them and they look be bit out dated for design wise. I look at a Microsoft Guide eariler and saw a design I would like to use on each of the front page of each policy document. Only problem being is that this graphic as a image of two people on ther, wondering if anyone could eithier remove this, or make a similar design? Also if anyone is up to the job, could someone try and update our Prospectus with a similar design? Thanks for that guys TBH after thinking a while, I can't remember if I ever typed the address without the www externally. I thought of doing a test (turn off proxy on my computer, proxy is from the council) It seems to work without the proxy So somehow the proxy is blocking this The expections we have currentlly set is this *.theockendonacademy.com What do I need to change? at a gusse change it to *theockendonacademy.com or would that not work, im thinking that as http://theockendon..... doesnt have a dot, the proxy still goes to this address Also is it best to put a star at the end of the proxy expection? Our webserver is internal (IIS) Ok still not working Our webserver is called WebServer - It as the IP address or 10.146.67.150. There of course is a A record for this in the DNS (Which I have made it a static one) I have now since made a alias record called wpad. I setup this on our active directory domain (ockendon.thurrock.sch.uk) not our website domain I then went into DHCP and changed the 252 record for wpad to the following string value http://wpad.ockendon.thurrock.sch.uk/wpad.dat I then used this command on one of the DNS servers to unblock wpad - dnscmd /config /globalqueryblocklist Now when I paste (http://wpad.ockendon.thurrock.sch.uk/wpad.dat) into the web browser I get this message Unable to determine IP address from host name for wpad.ockendon.thurrock.sch.uk But if I ping wpad.ockendon.thurrock.sch.uk it finds the right IP address for the server Any ideas?

In the internal domain dns zone, or the external dns zone? Never been brillant at DNS..... Would like our moodle site www.theockendonacademy.com/moodle as a subdomain if I knew how to set it up (vle.theockendonacademy.com)

Yep we have got the box ticked for "Automatically Detect Settings" Seems after more test 2/4 computers as worked in our office We didnt test it for long through, forgot to check if our internal sites worked, ie mail, eportal

I would say they missed it out, cant see it making any difference between those versions I would say just carry on tbh

Im hoping you have some sort of backups going on? Ok what I sugguest As you said you have all the user files etc on the other hard drives, that leaves you able to do the following Create a virtual server (2008, not r2 as you cant run a 64bit virtual server as you running a 32bit server) transfer all the roles to this virtual server (makeing sure you save the files for the virtual server to another hard disk/partition) then demote the physical server as a DC. Makes sure any files on the system drive/partiton is copy to another drive Now as you have a virtual server running for the domain you can now reload the physical server to Server 2008 R2. Of course your need to do this during half term, unless the school can have downtime Once Server 2008 R2 is installed you can install hyper-v again add the virual server back on to server thats still saved on the other drive. Transfer everything roles etc on the physical server, setup how you want it Once this is done demote the virtual server. Make a new virtual server (2008 R2) Just make this a Domain Controller, this would be a backup just incase a problem arises on the first Domain Controller Long progress, but thats all I can think off.

Thanks mate, shame it was not extually what we were after GD Pages Naviagator does what we want, but it uses its own widget for the job, we want to use our own vertical menu widget that comes with the theme which we designed, the default menu thats comes with GD Pages doesnt look very nice While PageMesh doesnt do what we are after. ANy other plugins Or is the a php theme code I change add/change?

Hi there We are upgrading our website with a new theme, more content and a better menu navgation. This is what I would like done, if this is possible Home page - See just all the parent pages in the menu only (dont see the sub pages when you click any of the parent pages) - plus an added home button Parent pages - Just see the sub pages in that parent page (dont see any parent pages in the menu) - plus an added home button Sub Page - Just see any sub pages if that sub page has any, if not nothing in the menu except a home button (dont see parent pages or sub parent pages) Hope thats not too confussing for you, just think this will be easier with the menu this way
