  1. So create the 2nd location as a standard SMB Share and then add that share as a Backup Repository on the Veeam Server or do I install Veeam on the 2nd Server and setup the Backup Repository? Once added I assume I can then use Backup Copy to copy only the latest Weekly backup etc.
  2. I have Veeam installed and running in a single location. After a bit of a re-jig, I now have a server and QNAP NAS box available for a secondary backup location. to hold the latest daily backups and latest monthly backups What is the best method of setting up/using a secondary location in Veeam to hold the only the latest daily backups and latest monthly backups. Cheers
  3. We maintain our calendars in Google, this has been done since before I arrived and a link was emailed out to staff so they could add to whatever they needed. This mainly worked fine, except some staff had "issues" accessing the calendar. This year, thought would make things easier and import calendar to their outlook calendar. Currently using a Hybrid Office 365 and On-Premise Exchange with only staff remaining on On-Premise, which means the import process is a bit long winded up it works. Google Calendar Shared as ical and imported to Office 365 Mail Account and all is well...... Salamander then take the Calendar and shares/imports to all staff accounts as an additional calendar. - All happy and no more hassle from staff! Now here is the problem..... imported Google Calendar into Account on Office 365 and everything shows correctly..... In Google Calendar - all day events show as starting as 0:00 (GMT+1 London) and finishing at 0:00 (GMT+1 London) Office 365 account shows the imported Calendar as All Day (no times) However - the all day events on the on-premise exchange are showing all day events starting at 01:00 and finishing at 01:00. Checked regional settings and timezones all set correctly (UTC 0 - London) Anyone any ideas, thoughts, suggestions, answers?? Cheers.
  4. Music have purchased Cubase Elements 9 and I am having a bit of a mare getting the ELicenser to connect to the internet to activate. I've tried it on my machine with bypass filtering and still no joy Any body activated this software through smoothwall? Cheers
  5. We're another place having same issues with printers being hit and miss with logging off and on again the only way to get them appearing again. Currently have then assigned using GPP. I was going to look at VBS and power shell but as other have tied in don't think I'll bother. Printer names/shares - do you have spaces in the names? I do at the moment and thinking of changing spaces for underscores.
  6. Recently made quite a few changes to the network, including setting up a Hybrid Configuration for On-Premise Exchange 2013 and Office 365 and updating all clients to Office 2016 I have configured Active Directory to configure outlook based on SMTP address and this works great for O365 users, however on-premise users get outlook configured correctly but when prompted for credentials they need to put domain\usename even though exchange (OWA) is configured to include domain\. Meaning OWA users just type in their username and password. Staff forget to add domain\ to logon details for outlook and then complain they cannot login to their emails. Whats the best way around this so Outlook users do not need to keep putting domain\ first? Cheers
  7. Manage to sort it - bit of a long way round but it worked... $chglic= New-MsolLicenseOptions -AccountSkuId "tennant:STANDARDWOFFPACK_STUDENT" -DisabledPlans $null Get-MsolUser -All | Where-Object {$_.Title -eq "Student"} | Foreach-Object{Set-MSOLUserLicense -LicenseOptions $chglic -ObjectID $_.ObjectID} I then change $null to the services I wanted to disable and ran the code again.
  8. Students already had the Office licence applied to them but without the Exchange Online as they were orginally on-premise. I have migrated them to Office 365 and need to add the Online Exchange to their existing License. The GUI is bobbins!!! can only select small numbers. Does anyone have a magical powershell script I could beg, borrow, alter, etc....... Cheers Mark
  9. help if I check the NICs have actually updated instead of assuming they had! Now working
  10. Ive added the following regit via GPO but still no joy HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Power HiberbootEnabled DWORD 0 = Turn off fast startup 1 = Turn on fast startup
  11. Fastboot! - That the one I need to disable! I can manually do it via control panel Control Panel. Power Options. Choose what the power buttons do. Change settings that are currently unavailable. Scroll down to Shutdown settings and uncheck Turn on fast startup. Save changes. How can I do this via GPO?
  12. Anyone have some dell Optiplex 790 running windows 10 and have them turning on using WOL? Can you let me know what BIOS settings and Windows setting you have please as no matter what I try I cannot get them to wake on lan once windows have shutdown. I have: updated the BIOS is A19 Enabled Wake On Lan Disabled Deep Sleep Updated the NIC drives from Intel and made sure Magic Packets enabled Cheers
  13. I have enabled Passthough Authentication and Single Sign on within Azure AD Connect. Chrome work brilliantly - enter email address and hey presto it logs in :-) IE11 - wont allow anyone to sign in! It says "Your email or password is incorrect" If I disable Passthru and Single Sign on then users are able to log in normally. Anyone come across this before?
  14. I have on premise exchange 2013 mailbox which a calendar I need to share to all staff - I know I can share a calendar to other on premise mailboxes, but should I be able to share a calendar to Office 365 mailboxes as well? Cheers
  15. @robsonma how have you got on?
  16. I have connected a laptop to a wired port on VLAN220 and it has picked up a correct ip (10.16.220.5/22) so DHCP on smoothwall is working correctly. From the wired client I can ping VLAN220 gateway (10.16.223.254/22) so this would indicate that routing is working. I can also ping the other devices on the network. Smoothwall said the issue with the transparent proxy was because they see could traffic on ethC (port 3) instead of ethD.220 (port 4), this will stop the transparent proxy from working because its being seen on the wrong interface. Once the traffic is forwarded to the Smoothwall on the 223.254 IP instead of the 119.254 IP, that should fix the transparent proxy for you. Currently I am seeing traffic on port ports for 10.16.220.5/22 - Port 3 seems to be udp 137,138 traffic where as port 4 is seeing all kinds of traffic (presumable from the laptop trying to pull updates etc from the web) Here are my Transparent Proxy Firewall rules.
  17. I am at the point of scapping VLANs and keeping everything on a flat network including my wireless and letting users struggle with the wireless authentication breaking when they move across site due to meraki and smoothwall not playing nicely!!! I appear to have some kind of routing issue but no idea what or where! My core switch is a DLINK DXS-3600-32S Wirless system is Meraki Smoothwall - S8 Appliance I have created VLANs for my wired desktop and they work fine! Since roaming breaks authentication with Meraki/Smoothwall - the only way around this is to make the wireless clients use smoothwall for DHCP! Meraki Wireless =============== Meraki APs are on VLAN1 - the SSID is tagged for VLAN220 and all relevant network ports have beem tagged accordingly. Smoothwall box ============== Internal network is plugging into Port 3 on Smootwall - interface address 10.16.119.254/21 Created VLAN interfaces on Port 4 and assigned IP addresses accordingly - eg. VLAN220 Interface IP - 10.16.223.254/22 I have configured smoothwall DHCP for VLAN220 interface (10.16.220.0 - 10.16.223.254 - 255.255.252.0) and wireless clients pick up VLAN220 IP addresses - all good. When wireless clients browse the internet, transparent proxy isnt working - so clients are unable to use the internet. I have had smoothwall remote in and take a look and they confirm my smoothwall configuration is correct and there is nothing more they can do as smoothwall is configured correctly meaning I have a routing issue on my core switch. Smoothwall have told me - DLink Switch ============ All ports are tagged correctly VLANs work fine for Wired clients When do I need to look at and what commands do I use? Altertnatively - can anyone recommend any companies that do VLAN work at a reasonable cost who can remote in and sort this out for me! Only downside is can raise an offical order as no finance staff are in until Sept!! Cheers
  18. Does anyone who have a Meraki system and uses vlans with smoothwall for DHCP/Transparent Proxy mind sharing how you have configured things please as I am struggling to get things working correctly. Cheers
  19. Once you have verified and have SEPA setup withdrawing funds is very straight forward.
  20. I know Coinbase had an issue with some verifications not completing so you may have to raise a support ticket if that happens. Did have about 7 coins but sold them last year to pay for honeymoon, bit gutted now but hey ho it was worth it [emoji3] If you don't have any mining equipment you can always rent miners.
  21. @robsonma I found trying to create the shortcut using N:\ didn't work. I downloaded RSAT tools for Windows 10 and installed on my Desktop - this gives you access to AD Tools such as Group Policy Management where you can then create the shortcut for mapped drives. Mapped Drives - you will need to do this for any drive you want to pin to the start menu. In your GPO for the shortcuts, Create a new Shortcut Change Target Type to Shell Object On Target Object, click on the 3 dots and then click on your mapped drive See screenshot for reference: For Log Off - copy details in screenshot My Computer - note the Argument area is a " Shutdown, I don't add this as a pin but on the start menu but it is on the start menu as normal. Let me know if you need any other info Cheers
  22. I installed RSAT tools on my desktop and then used Group Policy Management from the Desktop to create the shortcuts for the Mapped Drives.
  23. @robsonma - I use 2 start menus, 1 for Staff and 1 for Students - the process is the same for either (does mean a bit of duplication - copy and paste seems to work ok) Here is my Staff Start Menu - I tend to use Notepad++ for any manual editing of the XML file and choose XML as the filetype when saving. StaffMenu.XML xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/Start/2014/LayoutModification" xmlns:defaultlayout="http://schemas.microsoft.com/Start/2014/FullDefaultLayout" xmlns:start="http://schemas.microsoft.com/Start/2014/StartLayout" xmlns:taskbar="http://schemas.microsoft.com/Start/2014/TaskbarLayout" Version="1"> Created shortcuts for all my applications within GPP, that way only installed applications will have the shortcuts generated. - once I had done 1 complete set of shortcuts I then backed up the GPO and then imported into the Student ShortCuts GPO and removed staff shortcuts to things like SIMS.net etc. - When I need to add new shortcuts, it just a case of adding to one and then copy and past into the other. GPP for Shortcuts: Computer Configuration -> Preferences -> Windows Settings -> Shortcuts (See Screenshot) Start Menu Redirection Group Policy: User Configuration -> Policies -> Folder Redirection Settings: Basic - Redirect everyone to same location Target folder location: Redirect to the following location Root Path: C:\Shortcuts\Staff StartMenu XML Group Policy: User Configuration -> Policies -> Administrative Templates -> Start Menu and Task Bar Start Layout -> Enabled Start Layout File -> \\Server\Shared\StaffMenu.XML Hope that helps.
