Morning All, We have an old legacy FMS database which we've just dbattach'd from our old SQL2008 server and are attempting to now attach it to a SQL2012 instance. Unfortunately I'm getting the following error "Could Not Find Stored Procedure 'sp_dboption" midway through the attach process. From the looks of things 'sp_dboption' is not longer supported on SQL2012 so how do we attach the database? Will doing it through the SQL Server Management Studio be sufficient? I also get the same error in the log file if I use the Migration tool on the backup DB Attach made when taking the original FMS DB off the older server.

Charm Menu > Settings > Change PC Settings > Update & Recovery > Recovery > Advanced Startup (restart now) Took me to a different start up screen where I could get into the UEFI and disable things like smart boot and set it to Legacy Mode.

Got some a few years back and they definitely made a huge difference. Was managing 10k three times a week last summer with the new shoes. I think I just keep on trying to do too much too soon whenever I start again but I'm almost convinced the world is against me when it comes to running.

Run a rule to move everything before the spam date to a folder. Copy folder to new mailbox. Delete spam mail box and recreate and copy back in the old stuff. Would that work?

This is some topic all right. The thing I'm most amused about is how from this topic is very apparent how the younger generation don't seem to care about how their data is used by 3rd parties and they are pretty happy for them to have carte blanche with it.. This isn't just related to Chrome by the way but as a whole.

This is something I'm keen to do in the near future as well Do you not also need licensing for MDOP as well as EES though? It's been a long time since I've looked at it so might be wrong.

I do similar to @theSacredOne although use a batch file instead of calling each setup individually. Using the batch file also means I can copy the connect.ini and sims.ini at the same time

Reading up on it It looks like most Intel Processors shut themselves down when they reach a certain temperature anyway although what that temperature is seems to differ from source to source.

Probably similar to above. We have a folder that students can create a sub folder in but can't enter any sub folders other students have created. Works pretty well.

Just out of curiosity what temperature would it have to be to start considering switching kit off?

Am I right in thinking that you have to assign a Name Server to your domain name and then that Name Server can be used to update your DNS for all your A Records \ MX Records etc? I only ask because I have recently moved by domain names to another host and updated the DNS settings on the new DNS control panel but they aren't taking affect because apparently I'm still using the Name Server from my previous hosting and thus the DNS settings on that are the ones being applied. Does that sound right? I always assumed DNS was just handled by whoever held your domain name. I didn't realise you had to go through an additional step to select which name server would be the one to be in charge of your DNS settings.

We use SCCM 2012 to handle the majority of our software deployments. You can get the Java MSI file out of the temp folder when you install it on a test machine. https://www.java.com/en/download/help/msi_install.xml Then we just push it out and set it to uninstall the previous version at the same time.

Yes. You need to set the UPN suffix for your users to the same domain as the e-mails. You can add a new UPN by going to AD Domain and Trusts. Right click your domain name and and click properties and you can add a new UPN Suffix in there. Then you need to change your users UPN Suffix in AD. This guide is how I did mine... Sounds like the account to join the domain doesn't have enough permissions. Have you set the account up correctly?

We pushed this out as an MSI a few weeks back. No issues with it. Just placed the license file in a shared area and tell the end users they need to run it before they can access the resources. All they need to do is double click the license file and it will run and license the computer to open the protected files so it's not a massive extra step.

About the shins and pains. Whatever you do don't push yourself. Especially if it's pain and not an ache. Better to take two weeks out and get back into it quickly than push yourself for a few extra sessions and end up putting yourself out for a few months. I learnt that the hard way.

Strange one. Have an old Edugeek Lanyard I picked up from BETT in 2010. Been on my car key for the last four years but it's starting to fall apart. Does anyone know where I can get another one from? Have tried other Lanyards but they just aren't as good

I've set our Stone Laptops to bitlocker through SCCM 2012 at build time. I have a "Set Reg for BitLocker" step in our Task Sequence which runs the command: reg.exe ADD HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\TPM /v RequireActiveDirectoryBackup /t REG_DWORD /d "1" /f Then the next step is the standard "Enable BitLocker" step which we've set to "TMP and PIN" and store the key in "ADDS". We also have it set to wait for it to complete the encryption before finishing. I seem to remember some of our SSDs having issues encrypting and needing to alter the partitioning of the disks slightly to get it working and another case where it wasn't keeping the correct drive letter with some laptops that was causing an issue as well.

Can't help you but wanted to post so I get the thread updates Our last tech sorted this for us but no idea how. Apparently there's a folder on one of the servers that by simply browsing it will screw up the libraries for all users on the school so. No idea if bullcrap or not but made me laugh at how ridiculous it sounds. We thought we had this sorted but for some reason the "downloads" folder always saves directly to the c:\ no matter what we do in terms of redirection \ reghacks. Get the odd kid from time to time coming in saying they can't find work and it's been saved locally.

Am I the only one who had to do a double take at the topic title?
