Long as it tastes nice I knew the majority of ham \ bacon on pizza was actually turkey but didn't realise it was fake cheese. Kinda makes sense now why I like pizza and usually hate cheese!

Documentation for O365 is pretty garbage at the best of times. The amount of times I've actually got decent help with O365 from Microsoft must be approaching zero.

Trying to build a new laptop on CC4 (I usually smart build but we have about 30 of these so want to try and get them done over the network if I can). Laptops are ASUS X551CA and came with Windows 8 installed. I had a hell of a time just enabling me to PXE boot and get that far by disabling various bits and bobs in the BIOS. Manage to download boot image and get enter in relevant details like machine name however it fails at the "Partitioning Disks" stage. Trying to figure out if this is some kind of Windows 8 issue or something CC4 side such as missing drivers. Can anyone shed any light? Worst comes to the worst I'll manually install Windows 7 and smart client but wanted to spend a little while trying to get them building on the network first and see if anyone on here could help.

Assuming they both have different e-mail addresses for the different then just set the UPN of them to the relevant domain and ask them to log in with their e-mail address assuming the alias is the same and their user name.

I found once I'd gotten 5k under my belt and found a pace I was comfortable with it wasn't that big a push to up it to 10k. I remember it taking me about 3 months to get from 0 to 5k and feeling comfortable doing it and then only about 2 weeks to go from 5k to 10k. If you think you can do it then go for it. No point arbitrarily restricting yourself just because some app tells you to. Even now after running for a few years I find it difficult to get going again once I've stopped for a pee or quick rest. Give it a go and if you can't make it then go back to the app the next time you go out.

Ah yeah. I've learnt you can only point CNAMES to the domain \ host. Well that's getting filed under "things I should probably already know"! Thanks for the links and advice. I've taken it on board and put the changes in place. I'm now getting a "the requested URL / was not found on our server". I'm trying to figure out if this is an issue with DNS now or whether our academy trust (yeah they having taken ownership of web hosting \ external DNS etc) have ballsed something up their end as at the moment, our web domain name is XXXXXschool.org and visiting that when off site redirects to sites.google.com/yaddayadda. I'm wondering if they don't have the domain names set up within google correctly.

Hi, Have a forward lookup zone for a domain set up internally. Website is hosted externally for that domain by another company and is moving to another host. As it stands at the moment we have: WWW as the name and an A Record pointing to the IP of the external web site host. This works perfectly fine. Our academy has moved us to a google sites hence no IP to point to just the site address. Have removed the A record and set up a CNAME for WWW pointing to the web address but doesn't seem to be working. Just getting generic IE "webpage can't be found" page. Am I expecting CNAMES to be doing something that shouldn't or am I missing something elsE? Hope you can help,

Yeah no issues in running the exams. Just a pain you have to manually set up each client to point to the the invigilator computer. Although we just have it in one room at the moment so not a massive issue at the moment. We just have a single user account designed just for it and have that set up to point to the relevant invigilator account.

It's very frustrating. Even more so when the teachers don't seem to give a damn. But then when you have teachers that have chargers go missing and other teachers who hand laptops back at the end of their employment with 3 or 4 chargers in their laptop bags then what hope do you have?

What is the location SIMS should be getting installed to? I've heard numerous reports of certain components not working if you install it in (x86) and other reports of things not working if you install it in just Program Files. Anyone got the definitive answer?

It's all one the same box. Server 2008r2. I'm assuming removing WSUS and the SUP will mean I will need to reconfigure it afterwards as well?

Easy question with probably a million different possible causes! Essentially SCCM 2012 doesn't seem to be installing updates as reliably as it used to. A recent update pushed out got installed on about 5% of the applicable target machines. The nice little graph acknowledges that the other 95% still "require" the update but they've been "requiring" the update for a few weeks now. It seems to be hit and miss for what updates go out and which ones don't. The "success rate" for the updates being installed varies from only a handful of machines up to nearly 100% and I can't find any sort of pattern for it. Any ideas or trouble shooting tips? . . . Quick brief on how we're currently set up... * SCCM Software Update Point Syncs correctly and has done since it was installed. Currently on Sync 317 which has completed successfully. * Software updates show up under "all software updates" correctly. I can also include manual updates I download on WSUS so doesn't seem to be an issue there with it talking to WSUS and downloading the updates. * I have an Automatic Deployment Rule set up. It runs every Sunday and adds all Windows 7 updates. It creates a new Software Update Group and enables it after it's created. * I can see a list of all the Software Update Groups. One for each week. Under the stats if lists all the computers in the collection and how many are compliant which is about 95% so all good there. * The deployment packages are also being created and distributed correctly and show up under the monitoring section. * If I look at a specific update under "All Software Updates" it will show up as being inside the most recent Deployment Package so it's definitely being made available to download.

EDIT: Ok so that's been suggested already! As pointed out before it's worth bearing in mind that the drivers required to build the computer are usually different to the ones windows will need once the computer has been built. I believe Win PE will use Vista Drivers and then when it's built and the O\S takes over it will be looking for Windows 7 drivers. It's very possible for it to build correctly and then once Windows takes over and starts to install all the devices for it to pick up a bad driver and cause issues. The fact it's blue screening when trying to connect to the network and unplugging it from the network fixes this heavily suggests a nic driver error. I've had a few cases with drivers where the drivers will appear to work absolutely fine but will cause sporadic problems over time. So just because they "work" don't assume they "work" In fact I had this very issue before building a Stone laptop on RM where I had the correct driver however for some reason the particular version I was using was causing issues so removing it and re-adding an older one fixed the issue.

Only had to deal with them once. I ended up waiting in the queue for 90 minutes before finally getting through being told they'd raise a ticket and that someone would phone me back. No one phoned back.

Seconded on having one Physical Server for disaster recovery scenarios. Also if you use a server as an NTP server it's best that's physical as well as the clock drift is worse on VMs and isn't as accurate.
