Right, so just handed out a classrooms worth of laptops only to find half of them not charged. Just tested the first 4 shelves and they were charging the laptops fine, but the last 4 shelves are completely dead, not charging at all. Anyway i can test this further, and indeed send it for repair, i think its about 3 or 4 years old Thanks!

The first 1gb of memory of any pc/laptop on a cc4 system is just used for their backgroud processes, coupled with us having many RM Ones with 1gb, means by the time the system has booted up the cpu light is flashing like mad and any other programs you want to start take ages, if another words very frustrating!!

Laptops CeleronD 1.8mhz, 1GB DDR2 - 5-10mins, cold boot even longer have you seen the amount of background processes running in cc4????

I checked event viewer and there was nothing, , can ping the dc, and i can see the shares. Both times and keyboard are the same for client and server, so that leaves me with dns, which is something i dont have much experience at all with yet, so this test network is really doing me some good, i just need to know where to start with configuring the client dns and how to match it up with the dc? Thanks guys for your help with this!!!

If you have the space, and maybe spare kit, couldnt you just let them setup a test network maybe server and 1 client etc, and let them set GPO and everything else? Just a thought
