You raise a good point about how the prices can add up, and your insight is really helpful to me, but im already employed full time, so i wouldnt want to give up my job to try this out, so that is why if i were going to try this, is do this after work and see "how it goes" im looking at getting business from word of mouth, so good customer service and fair pricing is key to this otherwise i wont get anywhere, as for giving the industry a bad name, i cannot agree, im not a fly by night shop, im looking at fixing computer issues of people i know and friends of theirs so ripping them off and doing a bad job wont be an option, its surely this dodgey little shops opening everywhere run by people looking to cash in on peoples lack of knowledge, i suppose its the same as car garages really, hard to find people pricing right for the quality of work done!

Right, so recently i have noticed in my area (west midlands) an awful lot of compurter/laptop service/repair shops coming from no where and setting up. So be being curious was thinking so much money can be made/how easy to setup etc. Recently i had someone at work come to me and tell me they took their laptop in for virus removal and got stung for £180 which i think is a joke, also when you look at the prices the tech guys at pc world charge i just cant believe people are willing to pay this! So as you know while doing the jobs we do, and im sure this is the same for a lot of people here, family/friends/work colleagues asking us. my pc/laptop is broken, can you come and fix it please, or can you come around and set the "internet" up for me etc. Just wondered how many people have started off doing this, and actually started to make a full time/part time living from it?? As you can see, nothing like a resession to look for a 2nd source of income Regards

Same here, went to see avatar 3d, the first time ever watching a 3d film, from what i can remember anyway. I dont enjoy it at all, i just ended up paying extra to end up with a headache, and if your like me have to wear glasses, its not much fun at all. I dont understand why over the past 12-18months they have jumped back on to 3d films, other then what you have said about charging an extra £2, bearing in mind a normal film is about £6-7 quid, thats £9 for an adult, might aswel wait for the dvd for that kind of money

Im thinking that the idea is, after 20,000 hours, many years have gone by, and you dont mind paying another £700 for a new unit, deffinatley the way do go i think!

What happeneds at the end of the 20k hours of life, can the led's be replaced or is that the end of the projector?

we would all love to replace all inkjets with laser, but cost wise its still out of the question, nice to see some colour lasers dipping below £100 but even still, the quality of those are questionable. Been looking at replacing inkjet at home for laser too, but just dont drink enough to make it worth while, which i think is the same reason some of our teachers still just have an inkjet too!

we have some 1200 which have been good, but i have K5400 and K550 which always seem to give me problems, one of the K5400 has completely died, which im thinking it has something to do with the rollers, as paper kept jamming more and more often, and now it wont pick up paper at all Personally i would opt for set printing points and have lasers, rather then giving everyone an inkjet, too much time taken up and too much cost involved!

we closed for 1 day *cries* west midlands is meant to get some snow sunday night, so hopefully some more snowdays!
