  1. Yep including the Administrator.
  2. Never used either what you have mentioned, but had no issues here using sQuid | eMoney, smart cards, cashless, payments, cashless catering if your wanting more to investigate.
  3. We've had varying levels of support. Some of the engineers we speak to ring us 2 or 3 times a day to see how we are getting on, others we have had to explain over and over again our issues and they were asking us to try things that we had already tried - we asked for them to escalate the call and spoke to someone quite high up with Support in the UK who sorted our issue in no time.
  4. Our 1,500 users went across in around 2 hours maximum.
  5. A cheap quick way to do it would be to setup something like http://www.logmein.com. A terminal server is what we use but it sounds a bit overkill.
  6. Try Tools > Performance > Profiles > Batch Printing of Class Check Sheets
  7. @bossman - just a shame you can not keep it and have to give it to the school to use Congrats
  8. What are you writing your reports on - Profiles? If so, I believe theres a way to view a teachers set of reports. If its Profiles, then I'll have a look for you. What font are you using in the word document. I would guess SIMS would use Aerial or Times New Roman as default, if the font in word is something out of the ordinary it may not like it.
  9. We've created quite a few and put them in our Knowledgebase on our Helpdesk. Staff when asking relatively simple questions are not told / shown how to complete the task but sent the link the the relevant Knowledgebase article for them to do it themselves. We really started to put the knowledgebasee videos together due to the type of questions were were getting through out helpdesk.
  10. We use Kayako (Help Desk Software, Live Chat Software and Customer Service Software) and love it although others on this thread have mentioned decent helpdesks for free which I can't argue with either.
  11. I'm going with Option D as soon as the Summer release has been released.
  12. We use a hosted Sharepoint solution in school and I will try and integrate this with Office365. I think even if I was to start again this would be my preference rather than having all the content in 'the cloud'. With the internet down without mail could be avoidable - without teaching resources is another problem all together.
  13. We've signed up for the paid for version and go live next week mainly for the Office365 integration. Anybody who is thinking of purchasing, I think the cost of £425 (or thereabouts) for Secondary schools is only available until the end of May, then the cost doubles I believe. At a guess I would imagine the Primary costs will increase as well.
  14. We don't use it but I saw the demo at BETT and it did look very good. We have contemplated buying it, but are put off because of the costs so haven't made a decision yet.
  15. Does anyone have the RM recycle bin enabled? If so I would like more information if you may Can you limit the size of files stored in the recycle bin and set a duration as to how long they are kept there? You choose what maximum size in MB and how long the duration is kept in days. Are they stored in the users profile or elsewhere? I don't think they are stored within the user profile, but if you are using Quota management it will count towards the users quota. Do you find users use it or do they rely on it saving you from going to the backup tapes? The biggest problem is with it, is that users can only restore one file at a time - if they were to accidently delete a folder then it would take a while to restore everything. I must admit though, our students are pretty much self help now unless the file isn't no longer in the recycle bin i.e. they deleted it prior to our 7 days retainment policy and I then have to restore via our own backup. I am sure more questions, we are debating this at the moment but don't want to do so in case it causes issues elsewhere. If you have any further questions then fire away, we ran it through the fieldtrial and the reported issues we said - slowness deleting files, issues with burning files to disk have been resolved in the final release.
  16. I think to be fair to the person applying for the job, you need to look at two half days. To come in to school for an hour or two each day would cost quite a bit in petrol if they had to drive some distance. Good luck.
  17. Our Meraki shows our iPADs when in school on some golf course around 8 miles away.
  18. Just noticed this, if you still want a copy of our last to add to yours then drop me a PM.
  19. iPOD touches and Groupcall Emerge work well for us and our PE classes.
  20. We use one of these. Works well, I just wish the charge lasted longer than it does when using it.
  21. Theres a post on here, the additional cost on your renewal is likely down to a vipre problem where Smoothwall had missed charging schools for this part of the service I believe.
  22. Will be moving to a virtual 2012 server in the summer when it supports everything we use - SIMS, Discover, SLG.
  23. We've just started to use iPADs to record our MFL orals which actually sounded not too bad and the recordings are just e-mailed straight from the iPAD. Previously we've used Olympus MP3 dictaphones which were good but we were forever changing the batteries.
  24. RM Books allows you to access over 1000 old books free of charge - old classics etc. If you don't have the physical books already it will be cheaper to purchase the electronic versions via RMBooks if you are starting from scratch with the added bonus of: * Books dont get lost, damaged or stolen * When the overdue period has lapsed you can recall the book for the next student * Creates queues of students so you know exactly who has the book next * Works on multiple devices - basically any device with a web browser. * RM Books is free to setup and use - I would probably recommend RM Unify if your a secondary school it's around £500 which will pull data from your AD and create student / staff accounts automatically and you wont need to worry about importing CSV files all of the time. The link you have put up to MLS, that is the Library software used to book out physical copies of books, im not sure whether you can actually push e-books out via this or certainly you couldn't 12 - 18 moths ago when I last looked at it.
  25. We've currently got it installed in our Sixth Form study - no issues up to now - may look to rollout ready for September 2013 if everything goes well.
