  1. ..... and linkedIn. You do realise Mandy that you are soon to be flooded with "friend" and "contact" invites. Us geeks can't resist a pretty girl.....
  2. Tracker ball, tablet pc? Touchscreen monitor? Failing that look at the mouse settings in the control panel. Try slowing the pointer speed down and turning off the precision settings. Or a microphone and speech recognition.
  3. I stand corrected. But as said earlier you will need admin rights. By the sounds of it the effort taken would actually be much more than just entering the data.
  4. I'm 99.9% sure that you cant import a spreadsheet into CMIS. You cant copy and paste multiple cells either. If you dont have the administrative access you. Results entry templates are what i think you are refering to. These are what you see on the results entry section in either CMIS or eportal. In all honesty your best bet is to use eportal as this supports the ability to enter the same result for all students. I.e. if most of your students are at grade "C" you can enter this and then enter the different ones. With no disrespect intended, CMIS is an incredibly complex package. In our school no-one but me messes with the assessment templates. Unless you are a qualified DBA or sys admin you're going to have to bite the bullet and just enter using CMIS or eportal. Sorry i cant be of more help
  5. Quality! Nothing says "I love you" like a visit to Ann Summers.
  6. Just a side point, I dont block ads, but all i can see at the moment is the (not so) smiley face. Are the ads down or are my LA automatically blocking ads for me?
  7. For which language? Do you have any preference? Or are you sticking with C?
  8. Are you more familiar with any other languages? If you use sockets it doesnt matter what language the program is written in in the first instance, just that the data that is sent is correct. I know the .NET framework (c# is synactically and symantically similar to C/C++/Java so might be worth a look) provide support for writing a service, which can obviously be set to start automatically and sit in the background waiting for some other app to send comms to it's open port. You may be constrained by WinAmp as to what language you need to write the plug-in in though but as i said, the listening/processing app can be written in any language you are more comfortable in.
  9. Ah yes, but he did put a request for an admin or mod to change it.
  10. Yes but it's multiple choice. 10 people doesn't mean 10 votes. it could mean 20 which would add up to 200%. The percentage is obviously calculated per person not per selection.
  11. I've got a script that will check amount of toner and give you a percentage. You might be able to get some usage out of it. You will need to do an snmp walk though to find the correct mibs. Here's the link it was posted at: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/networks/18922-monitoring-printers-nagios-2.html#post191928
  12. Nope, 160 t5135s. Have you had a look at the new image? It looks better than the previous ones. Is a lot more tightly locked down. Kids now can't change the user experience settings in "user mode". Maybe the new image will lead to the altiris scripts eventually working!
  13. Just out of interest _Ric, do those scripts work with the T5135? Or have you managed to get one of those working correctly with altiris?
  14. Yes they are probably more active with the active/regular members as mine doesnt take into account how recently they signed up and how much they've posted in that time. By the way the analysis wasnt meant to belittle the amount of members. Mentioning how many we have will only serve to gain new members, who will hopefully stay and make a decent contribution.
  15. Well actually according to the members tabs there are: 4270 (142 Pages *30 to a page + 10) members who have never made a single post 6612 (220P * 30 + 12) members who have made less than 10 posts 7332 (244 * 30 + 12) members who have made less than 100 posts. Which leaves (at time of writing) 655 "regular" members
  16. BT's new novelty design for the "home hub" was a success. Although the location of the AC Adaptor socket was a bit of a disappointment.
  17. Seen it before, but WHAT an idiot. Not sure what he was expecting to hold the concrete panel up. He'd obviously never heard about Sir Issac Newton and a little theory called gravity.
  18. Ah thats what i meant, i just got the groups backwards. Funny, i hadnt even had a drink at that point either! I'll have a go: "Jenny looked lovely."
  19. Nice first post. Sure you're not a mod in disguise? They're not allowed to take part.
  20. Think outside of the horse box.
  21. Maybe send Jenny the horse. I can just see Morris playing with her! Especially as her name is Jenny......
  22. Dos_Box was disappointed with the new appointment to his team, but he DID ask for somebody to do the donkey work. Dos_Box wasn't sure what he was going to get when he'd agreed the the Carriage charge. Dos_Box was testing the theory of "never look a gift horse in the mouth" Dos_Box new the audition for the "Lone Ranger" wasn't going to go well. Hi Ho Silver!
  23. Dos_box was sure the horse wasn't that size before he sat on it. Dos_box started to realise that Red Rum wasn't horsenapped, he just got old and started to get smaller. What do you mean it's too small. They're that size on my tv. Fee! Fie! Foe! Fum!?? I smell the blood of a horse!
  24. Yeah now look what you've started!
  25. £250 isnt a lot for a NAS box. Suggest that you can get some network monitoring software for free (linux, nagios & cacti installed on an old PC), and can they increase the NAS fund. Failing that we have AD Infinitum which helps create users & their areas which is always useful for the new intake, print monitoring software maybe, but again you could use CUPS and Pykora. Who would have thought that i'd be recommending lots of open source / linux stuff. You can't really get anything fantastic for the cash (and weightings) they've given you
