Does anybody have a script / howto , that will tell me the results of folders/files currently on sharepoint (office 365) that are longer than 260 charatcters? we have some users complaining of the error "The specified file or folder name is too long, would you like to save a local copy" Please note , this is not a SYNC Error, the files are already on the sharepoint . just need a powershell? script to show any over a certain filename

can you screenshot the error? have you tried opening in safe mode? Press and hold the CTRL key, and then click the name of the Microsoft Office program that you want to run. and then opening the file?

possible! , requires a lot of planning. Imagine you had to put a change request form in for this, and under possible issues i can think off the top of my head:- 1) security certificates all become invalid 2) all users profiles will be default 3) links using FQDN will be invalid

[sims] Academy Conversion sims to sims, new database?
andydis replied to andydis's topic in MIS Systems
phew, thanks for letting me know, I'm still concerned FMS needs a new DB , do you run the new FMS side by side , still with access to the old FMS, as we are migrating during the financial year -
Hi All, Quick question, for those of you that have been the academy conversion process ( sims to sims) did you have a new blank data base of sims or transferred all the data? did you have a new DFE number did you have a centre centre number? I have a few concerns about timetabling , exam results and other things that link into SIMS. Andy

Problem with SMART docs (might be laptop related)
andydis replied to witch's topic in Educational Software
To confirm:- login with problem user on Fujitsu A544 with SMART 11.4 and it fails, then login with another user on same Fujitsu A544 with SMART 11.4 and it works ? thats would lead me to look at the difference in users, could it be some sort of permissions issue? could it be a filtering issue? -

rather than changing the domain name , if you could let us know what you are trying to achieve we may be able to help. There are more than a few ways of tricking the domain / computer name into something different -
Clients receive IP address but have no network access
andydis replied to MrBrownPr's topic in Windows Server 2012
THIS. I have seen this twice before, The first Time a student was running a WPA Cracking utility to try and "intercept" all wifi packets , result was network loss and "stop" the second time a student had the wifi password allready and was running "cain and abel" network password sniffer, this basically changes all the ARP requests to his laptop then onto the default router and caused the network to "stop". -

screenshot of the error? screenshot of the services? thoughts) 1) could be the background transfer services ( BITS) service not started 2) could be SCCM client service not started ( if you handle updates via sccm?)

Can you telnet to it on port 443 ? Offsite Can you put it in http://IP/owa Thoughts firewall blocking ?
