Symantec Ghost PXE Server with 3Com Boot Services
computer_expert replied to acrobson's topic in Wireless Networks
There shouldn't be. I've successfully used PXE to deploy various operating systems from both Virtualbox and VMware virtual machines. Do you have the network card settings correctly set in the virtualization software (such as making sure that the virtual nic is set to bridged not NAT/Host only etc)? -
typical, my ps3 dies (of the ylod i think) and this happens (along with a release date for GT5 and a good playtv update near the end of the year).

they used business post/ukmail to deliver my laptop. it took them about 3-5 days to build a laptop and 3 weeks to build a mouse. the tracking is provided by walsh western (and showed up as tracking info temporarily unavailable on both orders of mine) and should appear if you click the 'click here' link next to tracking number on the order status page.

Try some of these: Download FREE Bootable Rescue CDs from Kaspersky, BitDefender, Avira, F-Secure and Others - Tweaking with Vishal I've only used the Kaspersky and Avira ones. The avira one does allow you to update the definitions but kaspersky didn't when I last tried it a few years ago, however it might have changed since.

Ghost 8 not joining Domain when the image is ON the domain
computer_expert replied to mattx's topic in Windows
I've always done it that way as I remember reading (in several different places) and being told not to image computers that have already been joined to a domain. -

Maybe they are using the old 'yank the lan cable out during login' trick to get admin profiles http://www.edugeek.net/forums/security/49064-login-then-pull-out-network-cable-admin.html

I tend to use debian and XFCE for older machines. To set them up I do a minimal base install (laptop and standard system) then issue "apt-get install xfce" to install XFCE after the installation has finished. Doing this will leave you with a lightweight install of debian but you will then have to decide on the software you need (openoffice/abiword, vlc/rhythmbox etc).

I've found a few dells/HPs with i3 processors (i'm looking for a laptop myself) with 4gb ram and 320/500gb hdds for around £499. The dell is the inspiron 1564 and i've forgotten the HP model no (it started with G62 though). However, i'm not sure if they are thin or lightweight though

The same dog also did it to another car: This dog really hates being honked at

also if you can't find any info on something (eg setting up a proxy) for debian, just search for instructions for ubuntu (as ubuntu is based on debian). I tend to use debian for servers and ubuntu for newer desktops.
