If you go into restricted drivers, have you disabled the b43 driver and left the broadcom one enabled? You may need to reboot the machine for the changes to take effect. also when you enable the STA driver, you need to be connected to the internet as some additional files will be downloaded. When trying to get the wireless card working on my laptop for the first time, I seem to remember a post that basically said the firmware (or something like that) is loaded onto the wireless card before being enabled and allowing the OS to use it. If you run 'sudo lshw' from the terminal, does it give you a model number for the wireless card (eg. Broadcom Corporation BCM4312 802.11b/g) ?

my dell laptop (with a broadcom wireless card) requires the wireless to enabled in windows before it will start working under Linux (Debian/Ubuntu/Linux Mint Debian Edition are the distros I've tried). Have you tried disabling and enabling the Wifi in Windows then rebooting into Linux Mint?

Along with a network full of security issues (that look like they have been fixed) -- The one thing that does get me is the size of some of the game updates. Take for example when I got GT5, I only had a 0.5mb net connection and it took nearly all day to update the firmware, then download over 800mb of game updates. Now that I'm on a faster connection it doesn't matter that much now that large updates only take around 20-30mins to download unlike the time it took before

When I've done something similar before with a Netgear VMDG280 and a DG834G, I set up the DG834G by disabling DHCP/NAT etc then connected the two routers via ethernet cable. This worked fine until the DG834g cleverly decided that it would loose the wifi settings every day requiring a restart to get the wifi working again.

Yep, the directory did exist, so I removed it and ran the mountnfs.sh script which didn't work for some reason. I rebooted and it still hadn't mounted the share but once the script was run manually it worked fine on the two reboots I did to test it. Thanks Thanks This was going to be the next thing I would have tried if I couldn't have got it going using unixmen's method.

Hi all, I set up a debian squeeze box yesterday and edited the /etc/fstab file so that the system should mount an NFS share at boot. The line that I added contained the following: #NAS 192.168.0.253:/share /media/nas nfs _netdev,auto 0 0 This used to work fine (most of the time) on Ubuntu 10.04LTS, but will only work on Debian once I issue 'mount -a' in a ternimal. Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening and how I can fix it? Thanks, c_e

Just had a little play with WDS and it seems as though you need to create the folder manually with the same name as your image. eg: if your image is called XPProSP3.wim, you'd need to create a folder called XPProSP3 so that the path looks like this - D:\RemoteInstall\Images\Windows XP\XPProSP3\$OEM$\$1\sysprep\sysprep.inf

I saw that late last year on channel 5. It was a pretty good program.
