Looks like you could be the first then The other half looked at it, but went with the Blackberry Storm instead so can't help unless you fancy one of those....

I can vouch for this - we moved our existing to site to csnewmedia a while ago now and Carl did all the legwork for us... he had it up and running in no time.

Best - Elbow - The Seldom Seen Kid Worst - Have to agree with the OP, The Killers album has naff lyrics and is too predictable.

Well done! I've had a glimpse of how hard you've worked there to keep on top of things, despite not having enough hours - maybe now they'll realise what they're losing... good on ya!

Not the point though is it? I'm just trying to warn people as it was a new one on me. I was using the phrase that our comms company engineer used. The safest thing is to diasble this feature on your system if you're not using it. Of course we will now check our 50+ extensions to ensure none still have the default PIN on them... end users though isn't it - you tell them to change it and what happens?

Heads-up... We found out this morning that our phone system had been hacked. Someone managed to get in and change the settings so that the substitute function would forward calls onto a premium rate number. Needless to say we've locked it down now and it looks like we caught it before any costs were incurred... Just wanted to warn people as I wasn't aware of this scam and the engineer at our phone support company says there is an epidemic of this at the moment...

All I can say is the VMWare converter is really good. It's done 6 p2v now for me with no problems at all.

Have been using it and still am for a couple of things - have to say VMWare ESX is better overall though... (e.g speaks to SAN better, performance is better)

Trialling Google Apps at the moment - I think a combination of Apps externally and MS Orifice internally might be our best option. This would at least get around the MS external licensing nightmare and also get rid of our Exchange server I would love to move away from Office to OOo but there are just too many issues to resolve: staff retraining, compatibility with sharepoint, features etc. etc. This issue is part of a whole wider dilemma for me - to open source or not to open source? I'd love to, but my instinct is it's not quite there yet....

External access to Sharepoint using AOL browser
Netman replied to imiddleton25's topic in Wireless Networks
Isn't the AOL browser based on IE anyway? IIRC, they moved from Netscape to MS in 2003ish... MS say about the 2007 version... " The good news here is that we have significantly improved SharePoint's cross-browser support in the new release compared to the current 2003 release. Web browser support is divided into two levels: level 1 and level 2. Although administrative tasks on SharePoint sites are optimized for level 1 browsers, Office SharePoint Server 2007 also provides support for other browsers that are commonly used. To ensure that you have complete access to all the functionality, we recommend that you use a level 1 browser for administrative tasks. We've also been documenting where our features behave differently in Level 2 browsers, so customers can better understand what to expect when we release the new version. While subject to change before we ship, the current Level 2 web browsers are: Windows Firefox 1.5+ Netscape 8.1+ Mozilla 1.7+ Macintosh Safari 2.0+ Firefox 1.5+ Unix/Linux Firefox 1.5+ Netscape 7.2+" More here: Plan browser support (Office SharePoint Server) -
Nah - it was only the trip switch... the caretaker wasn't allowed to flick it back on though - he had to fill in a form in triplicate using goat's blood extracted under a full moon whilst singing 'I'm a pink toothbrush, you're a blue toothbrush'. This he had to submit on the next working day (measured in Botswana time). The request was duly processed by a team of engineers over the next 36 hours... oooppps, sorry, days. Each engineer being on a salary of 3 times that of the caretaker. Eventually he got permission to flick the trip switch back on, only to find that there had been a general election in the meantime and his new school would be moving back into it's old premises so the new one could become a prison.

iamlearning seems expensive to me at £3k per year... How does the mathletics purchasing work? Anyone know if you just need to buy enough licences for your concurrent connections? TIA...

When you bought, the dollar was stronger against the pound than when you sold - if the exchange rate had stayed the same, you would have got the full value of the increase in share prices. Even better, if you had bought @ 1.66 and sold @ 1.50 you would have made even more. You ideally want to buy when the dollar is weak (eg 2.00) and sell when it is stronger (eg 1.58) so if you buy £100 worth of dollars you get $200, then sell them again at 1.58 (todays rate) and you get £126 back - you've made £26. You were unlucky and it happened the other way around for you...

In dnsmgmt mmc create a new alias (cname) entry in the forward lookup zone for your domain. Enter 'intranet' for the alias name and browse for the fqdn for the server you're hosting it on (eg. myserver.mydomain.local)
