  3. Exeter City returned to the Football League after a five-year absence with a narrow play-off final win over Cambridge United at Wembley. The Devon club dominated the first half and took a deserved lead when Rob Edwards nodded home Dean Moxey's inswinging corner on 21 minutes. Watch out Janners - we're coming to get ya!
  4. ... when they play the English! :D Isn't it the case that the Scots when fighting (I mean playing football) against each other are rubbish - but put them against the English and it's game on!! I would love to see 'gers and the hoops playing in the prem except the rest of football in Scotland would collapse in a heap I love that line in trainspotting: Some people hate the English, but I don't. They're just w@nkers. We, on the other hand, are colonized by w@nkers. We can't even pick a decent culture to be colonized by. We are ruled by effete @rseholes. It's a sh1te state of affairs and all the fresh air in the world will not make any f*cking difference.
  5. Is the site showing in IE as in the intranet zone or internet zone? If the latter, it will always ask for credentials. It does help if the url is something like http://machinename/staff rather than a fqdn or IP address...

  14. Bit old now, but I did exactly this about 6 years ago. In the end I didn't go for the IP option (Avaya) as it was quite unproven at the time. The other options were Siemens HiPath and Toshiba and we ended up going with Siemens. Probably should have taken the risk and gone with Avaya... take a look at them... 15. That is waaay slick - here have some rep... & thanks...
  16. I've done a find/replace on multiple files to fix things like this before - there should be some freeware out there to help you....
  17. IIRC you're looking at around £500 for SBS 2003 which comes with 5 CALs and then another 5 CALs would be around £250. If you could drop from 11 to 10 that would probably be best as I think you can only get them in bundles of 5. That would leave you £750 for the hardware, which should be okay... just shout if you want more info... As for setup and use - should be pretty straight forward - buy a decent book on it and read up first is best...
  18. Aaaargh - please don't let her publish that to the lovely internet... Give her a copy of NVu or even better, point her at Joomla... please, for the sake of the internet... :D

I have used MS Photostory (free) for the last few years here. Puts photo's into a slideshow with transforms and you can add music - then we burn them to dvd's for them to take away... they absolutely love it! *Edit - this years songs were: Don't stop me now - Queen Shine - Take That Forever Young - Youth Group Better Together - Jack Johnson Suddenly I See - KT Tunstall Chasing Pavements - Adele Goodbye Mr. A - The Hoosiers All about you - McFly Runs about 28 mins... probably about 300 images. We collect them from the kids, teachers and throw in some images of the school for good luck... Handy tip: Try to fit some of the images to the words in the songs! Shine is particularly good for that...

  21. Congrats
  22. We have two fantastic site engineers here (Ind. school). They do virtually everything, from painting to building. They bench rooms out for IT use and also do all our cable runs so I only have to terminate... As an example, recently there was a quote from an outside contractor to paint the external windows in one or our quads (there are 3 in total). They wanted £40,000. I expect the guys will have it done in 2 or 3 weeks in the summer so a massive saving there... Another example - I wanted a new fibre cable run through existing ducting - I didn't get a quote, but would expect it to be between £1,000 & £2,000 going on past experience. Bought a pre-terminated fibre and our chap had it in the next day - whole job was no more than £500... They must pay for themselves at least 4 or 5 times over every year I reckon, maybe even more.... Bit similar to good network managers really
  23. Me? Tell little white lies to SWMBO? Never I tell you, never... ...Now must sell some of those golf clubs I never use before she sees them in the garage... ho hum...
  24. How about... Tech_guy gets home: "Hi Darling, I've had a great day... I got a tax refund (or other plausible excuse) of £550 odd quid. I decided to spoil myself and get an Xbox 360 - What are you going to spend your half on?" It'll cost ya but you'll be flavour of the month and get to keep your Xbox...
