It would be great if the SOLUS3 Agent MSI had switches that could allow you to define SIMS/FMS/Discover during the deployment so that it automatically got added to the necessary channels when it started communicating with the DS, removing the need to manually add the workstation after it came online. Even with an automated process, SOLUS3 still requires manual work no matter how you add to the environment. Got a South West SOLUS3 Technical Session with Jon Wood on March 8th so I'll be compiling a list of questions/bugs etc.

Whatever happens, I'll put money on Capita extending SOLUS2 support until mid/late 2014 some time in the future. If they don't, I'll eat a had (made of nachos).

Even running a few VMs and a server, 16Gb would still be enough wouldn't it? (4Gb host, 4Gb DC VM, 1Gb per Workstation VM?) Anyway, this is a home PC so doubt I'll be doing anything like that on it!

Agreed. Our SOLUS2 and CentraStage Script combination worked wonders. Now all I seem to see is upgrade failures as SOLUS3 is playing silly beggers! I'm sure I saw a thread about this somewhere where everyone was asking for MSI's but for some reason, Capita thought these were a bad thing? One day, maybe Capita will create an uninstaller for SIMS!

You missed the party @enjay. Everyone else who's been dabbling with SOLUS3 is suffering with the hang over!!! I think in Capita's mind, every single school has WOL technology implemented. And at night, every single SIMS/FMS/Discover device is on site and connected up to the network. Then when an upgrade goes out, every single machine can be switched on at 3am, upgraded by SOLUS3 and then shut down again ready for staff to crack on in the morning. This is obviously not the case. For upgrades, it's an aweful piece of software that never quite works how it should. For brand new installs of SIMS/FMS/Discover, it works surprisingly well with no interaction required.

That is the general idea. With 4 military barracks, there is a good chance of grabbing a DMR there. Ditto. Them's the best kind! It worked in our favor. 3 kills, some nice medical supplies and food/drink.

Glad I got the guy who did it, but annoying that the server rebooted before Carbon could recover his gear! We had a good run for the east airport to the west. The three we killed on the hillside are Public Enemy No 1 for us. I reckon they heard the gun fire at the power sub-station and came to investigate. Good spot by Carbon though!

SIMS and FMS are now supported on SQL 2012 since the SIMS Autumn release if migrated across manually. However, both SIMS AND FMS HAVEto be on the same SQL version. SOLUS3 and Discover are not yet supported on SQL2012.

I like plain and simple looking cases. I'm not a fan of the monster gaming rigs that look like UFO's built them! Nothing toooooo big, with average noise and cooling. It's tucked under my desk so that shields most of the noise away.

In Word: File | Options | Trust Center | Trust Center Settings | Trusted Locations Tick "Allow trusted locations on my network (not recommended)" then "Add New Location". Pick the users home drive, tick "Subfolders of this location are also trusted" and OK.

Yea, I'm liking the look of it too and getting quite excited about placing the order. Think I'm pretty much there now. I've got a 1000w gaming PSU in my current rig so I'll just use that. I'm also tempted to use my existing case in the interests of saving some cash. However the door on the front is broken so I'm undecided. Again though, recommendations welcome. Think my current GPU would perform better if I had better spec hardware. I'll see how it runs with it and like you say, can swap it out for upgrade at a later date.
