  1. Thanks Andrew. I thought this might be the case but it seems the Windows folder is write protected so cannot create the file. I will see if I can change any permissions to allow this. Thanks for the info.
  2. Hi, We have been using iPads for our registration system but due to technical issues had to revert back to OMR and registration sheets. All is working in principal but when the OMR sheets are printed, they do not align properly. We were told to go into OMR setup and print a test sheet which we have done and then change the settings. When we try and do this and click save, we get an error that the omrconfig.ini file cannot be saved. I've searched for the file but cannot find this on the system. Does anyone know where the default location of this file should be or how I can solve this. Many thanks
  3. I have an issie calibrating - well, the board calibrates but as soon as you start using it - it's well out ! I was thinking of a firmware update - where and how is a firmware done?
  4. Just confirming the above instructions do work ! Done a succesful migration today. Excellent guide !
  5. Jumped the gun a little, found the updated info ! Here for anyone else who needs to do it ! http://www.six.somerset.gov.uk/sixv3/do_download.asp?did=24645
  6. I want to move our SIMS to a new server as the old server is so old and slow. Also will be replacing my SIMS workstations, so basically, starting from scratch. I've done this before when SQL version was 2005 following excellent instruction from | SiX | Somerset Internet Exchange |. The existing server has recently been upgraded to SQL2008 so can't use these notes. I've tried in a test enviroment to setup but getting errors on the DBattach phase - Error ASSEMBLY dznet Does not exist, Please Run SIMSSQLApplicationSetup.exe. I've started off by running the SIMS-FMS SQL2008.exe file, followed on screen prompts and changed the path to f:\program files\microsoft sql server etc. Anyone done a move to new server using sql2008 and can point me in the right direction. Thanks.
  7. Can you let us know what plate to use/where to get them? We have some failed XE40's and looking for an alternative projector - like the PLC-WL2500
  8. Phil, Can't thank you enough - many thanks for the info. Best Regards Jason.
  9. Phil, That would be great. I've had a little pay with the sims and setup a new server - used same server name, ip address etc but I think it's the SQL bit that's causing problems. If you could post it or email it then that would be great - post to Corporate Upgrade Centre Ltd, Ornhams Hall, Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire, YO51 9JH or email [email protected]. If you post, will obviously re-imburse your costs. Many thanks.
  10. Phil, I want to do the same and move my SIMS to a new server. Is it possible for you to send me the info you mentioned on doing this. Greatly apprieciated if you could. Many thanks. Jason.
  11. I want to move our SIMS to a new server as the old server is so old and slow. Also will be replacing my SIMS workstations, so basically, starting from scratch. Can anyone advise how this is done, in particular the SQL side. I don't want to pay the extreme fees of my LEA if I can do it myself - fairly computer literate. Many thanks.
