I have seen various things with HP switches in that they randomly decide to block a port but don't appear to tell you anywhere that they have done it (hence the reboot or re port works. Are they switches up to date firmware wise?

I know what you mean, last thing I do before bed is check out dashboard for any alerts and also backup status's. First thing in the morning I do the same. The last thing at night isn't as important but the first thing in the morning is. That's the o this is broken problem. 99% of the time it is fixed before my clients have even got into work and noticed a problem!

From what I understand from looking around the main reason to go x64 isn't for the additional ram which everybody (including myself) took the mick out of. It is to enable stronger more complex algorithms for encryption to be adopted, which just isn't available in 32bit procs. 99% of app writers are still going to be writing 32 bit apps for the device as there just isn't the need to go x64 (yet) unless the encryption is required.

I have a client who uses remote apps through Terminal Services. On the local machine when they copy a file to the shared drive it can take 10 mins for this document to appear within the shared drive on the remote app from the terminal server? Any ideas? Toby

I use ESXI with all my clients and have detailed notes of the configuration. I can get a ESXI host rebuilt quicker from scratch then it would be to work out how to backup and restore it - and in all honesty I have never even thought about it. For the VM's on the Hypervisor you have either things like Hyperoo as plexer says, Veeam PHD virtual, Acronis 9 or you have in server backups which is what Datto does which I have mentioned above. I have multiple datto unit's with my clients and they rarely have issues.

I Personally recommend the Datto Hybrid cloud devices - backup on site to the appliance and it syncs itself out to the cloud.

It wouldn't improve capacity - don't get me wrong that needs to be addressed, but that is not the main reason for HS2. The busiest routes in England are no were near HS2 (Bristol London line etc). HS2 is designed to get people from the North to London quicker. If businessmen can keep on working while getting to London via the Internet then the additional time it takes is not an inconvenience, they could leave the office an hour earlier and still be able to do everything they can while sitting in there office. For general public it isn't going to help much, but again HS2 isn't be targeted towards them its for business.

Rather than spend billions of pounds on this project, all they need to do is establish a good standard of internet connection of these trains. Businessmen from the north could then spend the extra time on the train and it being productive rather than sitting around. the ability to connect to the internet on the trains is probably greater than the requirement for getting to London quick. As I heard quoted the other day "If you want to get there 20 mins earlier, leave 20 mins earlier"

In theory but you would need to check - obviously it would need to be secure.

The way you are most likely going to have to do it is using Commandreporter.exe to export a CSV. You then have to import the CSV into mysql and work your magic. The biggest head ache would be having to have plans for each layout that a teacher decides to have there room.

Was that not the Nexus one by Samsung? As the orginal nexus was HTC. Main reason I moved away was they kept jumping between suppliers to make the things.

The screen on an S4 outshines the S3 by far (I've had both). The S4 has some very nifty apps preinstalled which are good.

Most android phones are relatively easy to root by installing a custom rom on them, mainly buy coping to the memory and rebooting it (its slightly more complex but that's the jist). Personally having held the S4 and Nexus 4 I would be S4 all the way, the screen is one of the best you will get out at the moment if not the best
