Yup - You would need a license if you require VCenter (the server instance which manages multiple hosts). But a standalone ESXI is free

I'm fairly sure you will struggle with passing through a USB cd drive to the VM. Have you set it to be connected on boot?

Perhaps contact Papercut and see if they can do you an extended trial?

I've never had an issue with SD Cards, we have always used Kingston SD cards and never had a problem. With regards to ESXI the basic parts of the client. Its very similar its just the extended features which are complicated. T

Yup I installed 6 in the last few weeks, lovely machines. The HP ESXI image gives you greater ability to monitor hardware from ESXI (its almost the same as installing Standard ESXI and the HP offline bundle).

This has been around for years, its just its now call "The Cloud". The large companies centrally host everything and staff connect in via a variety of clients (thin client, web access from other device etc) normally to Citrix TS although this is now moving over to the VDI route. If a company provides it staff with systems to connect into from any device they will aways need support in getting that to work. It is just that kind of support is going to change.

yup i think its in the client configuration app which gives the option to full screen - else there might be a switch to use.

I would be very surprised if it doesn't have a SD slot i have seen it either next to PCI riser to behind the PSU's. With regards to come with 4 x 1Gb connections I think its the dl360e's which come with that whereas dl360p's come with the new card. Although it might be some models which come with 4 x 1gb.

Who do people recommend for VPS's? Currently got a dedicated server with Webfusion. Won't be running anything major on the server (DNS, mail relay). Looking at something like 2gb ram, 70gb HDD, 2 cores and a couple of IP's. Currrently looking at 123-reg.co.uk but welcome recommendations. Also does anybody know if you can install DNS on Windows Server Web edition? Toby
