Hello @deshills - what specific licence would a school need to buy if they have created dashboards in PowerBI Desktop and then want to share with colleagues in the school?

You could put a flag into the Quick Note field on the pupil record and then add the 'Quick Note' field as a column to appear in the registers.

Capita are instead planning to deliver mini BETT's in regional areas

You can use the Housekeeping routine (Tools > Housekeeping > General) to update the mailing point which identifies one pupil at each address as the mailing point. This can be set to be the oldest or youngest child. You can then have your label report to filter on Mailing Point is TRUE.

When the Multiple Timetable licence has been turned on, the submission of a timetable cycle from Nova-T6 is disabled. In SIMS, click on 'Documentation' from the Home Page to go to the SIMS Documentation Centre - click on Timetabler then Multiple Timetables to access the handbook.
-
When using multiple timetables, in SIMS the timetable cycle is defined via Tools > Academic Management > Define Timetable Cycle

Patch 18134 is used to de-activate multiple timetable functionality.

You will need to run a patch to deactivate the Multiple Timetable licence if it is no longer required.

You should be able to edit the numbers in Exams Organiser via Tools > Allocate UCI & Exam Numbers. Then call the exam boards to get them rectified at their end....they are normally very helpful at this time of year.

That's why after making changes to the cycle in Nova-T6 you have to first 'Export Timetable Cycle to SQL' before sending the new timetable to SIMS.
-
I would create a new version of the timetable without D1 in T6 and then define the period times in T6 (Tools > Define Period Times). Then from T6 chose Data > Export Timetable Cycle to SQL, before finally sending across the new timetable via the usual Data > Export Curriculum and Timetable to SQL.

We do a manual install of the SOLUS Agent on non-domain machines and then add the client as a SIMS workstation in SOLUS3 (picking it up using the 'Agents' Computer Selection radio button).

Use the Attendance Marks sub-report - you can get a count of attendance marks and then set a filter to be over the chosen date range, and an additional one to set the required statistical meaning -
Changes to Exams Performance Measures?
ajp233 replied to ajp233's topic in Data Managers's Data Managers Topics
Capita have made available an on-demand patch (23087) to address some of the concerns around accurately updating the performance indicators for 2017. The patch can be run on the Spring and Summer 2017 releases of SIMS and can be ran many times. Schools will need to log a call with their support unit to request the patch. For any qualification (QN) that has been cloned into 2017, the patch will update the performance attributes (points, Equivalences etc) for: QNs where GCSE is in the Title and the Qualification Type is GCSE and JCQ Gradeset is JC F Result QNs where Advanced Sub is in the Title and the Qualification Type is AS and JCQ Gradeset is JC A/2 Result QNs where Advanced GCE is in the Title and JCQ Gradeset is JC 4 Result QNs where 9-1 is in the Title and the Qualification Type is GCSE and JCQ Gradeset is JC 40 Result -
Been in touch with a school who are migrating from SIMS to Bromcom. They have given Bromcom a backup of their SIMS DB, but Bromcom are having trouble with it as the SIMS DB is a Spring (v7.174) release and Bromcom say they are only set up to migrate data from the Autumn release (v7.172). They have asked the school for a copy of the SIMS installer for v7.174? That can't be right can it? What would Capita say if they know Bromcom were asking for copies of the installers? And how the hell have Bromcom updated their copy of SIMS in the past??
