@mhaddock no limit given, our 2 main sans are 120tb with 10tb + of media files I know you can use hand brake but that's only at folder level so you could imagine how much of a headache this is causing. @ICTDirect_Dave is this what you run?

Hi We are running out of space fast so we need to come up with a enterprise storage solution for 10tb + needs to beable to auto compress/encode media files. Does anyone have any idea's?

Basically we used to net boot mac's but we updated the mac server application now its not support netboot Our mac server is running Mojave. Could anyone recommend a way to get this working or another way to net boot mac's we do have sccm for pc's not know if you can integrate them into sccm or not. Regards Dave

Hello Not been here for a while but somthing is really bugging me now ive googled the hell out of this issue to no ovail. We are getting to the point were most machine have 100+ profiles which has a knockon effect on drive space. I have added group policy "Delete user profiles older than a specified number of days on system restart" but this doesn't appear to work with the "Windows 10" machines #annoying So i have loaded up gpedit.msc changed the setting "Delete user profiles older than a specified number of days on system restart" for the local profile......rebooted still nothing everything is the same......so changed the setting back i then used regshot 1.9 took a shot of the registry then changed the setting then took another shot to see the changes. So i then exported [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\System] "CleanupProfiles"=dword:00000005 And [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\System] "CleanupProfiles"=dword:0000001e Rebooted the machine but still the profiles are on the machines........Can someone help me with this task

Hi guys i used this thread How can I capture an image using capture media in ConfigMgr 2012 - Configuration Manager 2012 - www.windows-noob.com this sorted the issue out for me now onto making apps :-) -

we used mdt before so basicaly for the capturing use the mdt part as sccm doesnt seem to work fully. so yes a ts to capture then another ts in sccm to deploy the images -

Hi Guys so we have sccm2012 up and running now, works great, i have captured a image messed about with it then put it back up again but i notice you need to specific a image in the ts i notice when i deploy this the change eg folder structure is back to how it was say from the wim file on the dvd. i read that to do the capturing proper you need to use mdt.....i have incorporated this into sccm but my question is does anyone have a guide on how to do the ts on to capture a image, when i do it it asks me to do lots of packages then fails at the end all i want to use the mdt side of this for is to capture images. also where in the settings can i make it so when i boot it gives me the list of boot files rather than just going to my x64 image i must have changed something somewhere hope this makes sense sorry just having a bad patch atm Dave

keyboard settings the rearm part so i dont brick the image enabling the administrator account

cheers for that so in theory i could use the unattend's i have made in mdt already customise them with new locations for the images and all work?

Hiya ok so we finally decided to move from wds/mdt2012 to sccm2012 I understand with mdt you can use the unattend.xml to put in about the rearm, my question is where in sccm2012 can i get hold of the unattend, sccm makes when you make a task sequence or if its not in there where do i specify the rearm part as i will hate to brick another image 2 rearms into customising images. Dave

Hi Guys Just a few questions We are moving over from wds/mdt 2012 to sccm 2012, questions are Do i still use wds in the same way as mdt deploy the images from the wds share, or does sccm do it all? Does mdt work with sccm 2012 if so what are the pros and cons for doing this cheers Dave

i went on our licence agreement and the software was there no need for any licence so i guess its just in the annual payment

cheers for the reply..........in your views which is better to do, use sccm on its own or use best of both worlds with sccm and mdt? also how easy is it to get upto speed with it? is a month long enough?

arrr ok i guess what i seen on the campus agreement was System Center Essentials 2010...thats what happens when you listen to the boss haha. ok so can sccm 2007 R3 do os deployment as well as application deployment? or should i run mdt along side sccm........as per normal im asked to start a new project as im about to start planning the images for this summer......looks like no summer holiday for me again this year :-P

Hi Guys right i'll get right to the point, my boss has asked me to look into sccm 2010 but i cant find any install guides for this only 2007 r3......so which is better to use 2007 or 2010? we currently use wds with mdt 2010.....so my boss wants me to just use sccm.......is there much diffrence between mdt and sccm? if so any tips for me? will look into this tomorrow, as always you guys rock for info we have dells and samsungs also did any of you find a cab file of windows 7 drivers for dell 745, 755, i know on the dell site it starts off with the 760's supporting deployment packages. Dave

Hi Nath indeed i am still having a issue with it, to be fair i have kind of put it on the to do list before Decemember............the error i was getting was more it couldnt find the os, so maybe the same, something i really do need to look into as we are getting new dell laptops in........which brings me to the next issue finding alot of blue screening with the laptops, so going to have to redo the drivers database so it only picks up the drivers for the correct model.....joy.......that might sort the issue as well. so how did you over come the problem with the boot files? Morning Nath I'm using MDT2010 with wds i have made sure its using the x64 boot, and in wds i have set x64 to boot with the x64 image......even tried doing the task sequence with a x86 answer file in as a test but no go, as its auto puts it into the x64 boot file as a sequence, thats 1 way of testing also. just very annoying......for info im testing x64 with windows 7 enterprise image off the dvd. hope to hear from you soon :-) Dave

i'm guessing your talking about mdt rather than wds..............if so i think i have the answer , update your deployment share then copy your updated boot images over to wds replacing ur current boot images..................reason why i know cos i did the same thing yesterday :-) let me know how you get on

Hi Guys ok first off have tried this on 2 virtuals and 1 dell 780 all setup with server 2008 x64. ok so have wds installed works greats, installed mdt can deploy x86 images fine no issues i can see the light at the end of the tunnel for the summer.........untill i'm asked to do some x64 images and someone blocks the light at the tunnel........so this is where the issue comes in, i have added all the drivers, updated the deployment share, moved the boot images over to wds, done the task sequances validated the unattend answer files both on x86 and x64 all fine.......go to deploy x64 and i get this message: see link http://www.daveworld.co.uk/error.JPG any mdt gods out there? @sted info for the smartboard...i had this issue with the mandatory profiles.......i went to the location right click, propeties, secuirty then for that file gave everyone full control.........bit drastic but it works for me
