  1. So I've created the Non PP group which seems to be populating just fine, however, how do I then use that as a filter against other graphs? For example we have an assessment graph showing Y6 progress from Y4 to present, I want to be able to then place both the PP and non PP pupils against it. Is that possible?
  2. Student Totals by tier @PhilNeal - Sir you are a gentleman and a scholar, thank you!
  3. Hi, With an Ofsted inspection looming large I'm trying to make sure we have access as quickly and easily as possible to all the data we might need so... In Discover there is the very useful Pupil Premium indicator, however is it possible to have a NON pupil premium indicator? I considered making a normal user defined group and adding the pupils but the sheer number of children and the fact that the information changes regularly makes this impractical. It's very easy to create a report to give me the children where pupil premium is false, but how do I then get that in to Discover? Any ideas? Thanks
  4. Ah, so not the one I was thinking of... Most people on here seem to favour smoothwall but it's worth looking around at that. Regards to leased lines the market is very competitive so get plenty of quotes and then get the different suppliers to fight it out to offer the best deal/service/equipment. Good luck
  5. Not that I have any love lose for the LA that you are (probably) referring to, but the new firewalls are coming in over the weekend of the 14th December so it might be worth seeing how that plays out first.
  6. We have just updated OSX server from 10.6 to 10.9 and so far it's working well. The update was painless and quite quick on the Xserve. It pulled through all of our existing configuration perfectly and we are just about to update the clients.
  7. iworks seems to be. It just appeared as an update and works so well
  8. Instead of buying a Mac Mini server (which is the best way, but obviously has a cost) Have a look at Meraki as it's possible to use that to control Mac desktops as well as iPads.
  9. Just looking at this. I'm presuming you can use Routines -> Date in -> Import CTF . Then add data for existing pupils. But from here I'm not sure which tick boxes to have or not have.. Don't want to try and import anything that may overwrite existing information.
  10. Not raspberryPi but there is a large movement using Arduino. Search for DIY Drone, they even do complete kits that will get you up and going in no time.
  11. There is an install/setup cost. Onsite is about £1500 and hosted is £3000, that's a one off cost. Then there is a per year per device fee. On site is about £6 and hosted is £12. Hope that helps
  12. Works fine here. Just double check that each user has a folder on the root of their homedrive called "Movies". iMovie doesn't always automatically create this and it's just a matter of creating it before you use iMovie for the first time.
  13. Then apply for the job and get more money
  14. Sorry about that, uploaded the old one by mistake. It is a Grade 4 position.
  15. Hi, St Bernadettes is now looking to appoint a Network Manager (Officially a System Operation Manager). Lovely primary school that is looking for someone very forward thinking and a solid grasp of the new ICT requirements in primary. Either see their website or attachments to apply. Any questions, just ask. Person_Spec_ICT_Operations_Manager_-_GR4[1].doc Operations Manager - job description.doc St_Bernadettes_ICT_operations_manager_advert[1].doc
  16. Ah, I didn't know that, thanks for the update!
  17. I've never implemented it live but did it as part of a training course and it's not simple. The Basic jist as I remember it is that you need the 2 external IP addresses and then IPV6 all the way to and through the network. It shouldn't have put the GPO at the very top though as you can designate down to which ever group you need it to be for.
  18. I'd check time. Sounds obvious but it has often caused problems here if the Mac and the AD server are more than 5 minutes apart
  19. Library/Preference - com.apple.driver.AppleHIDMouse.plist. However that's in the user preferences and I can't see one in the system preferences so you might need to drop it in to each user home drive.
  20. Is there not a plist for mouse control? If there is then just copy that to each machine and it should (theoretically) work.
  21. What do you think of those Avid amps? Are they good enough for Music and Film playback in a classroom? Just thinking, they look a lot neater than a big desktop amplifier that we currently use.
  22. Are these things that exist or you would like to see?
  23. AirDrop looks brilliant. From a teaching point of view it would be great if you could send it to a group. Why would you block it? Are your iPads in a 1:1 scheme? If so, I wouldn't dream of blocking it as by letting the children discover/maintian and update their own devices is part of learning.
  24. I'm the same howartp. We will get all the iPads setup to deploy this summer and then a month after the kids come back iOS7 will come out
  25. Hi, I know this is a long shot but is anyone experiencing problems with any Macs running OSX 10.6 accessing the internet over the last couple of days? All was well and has been fine for years but after the holiday the Macs running 10.6 (10.8 ones are fine) can only access the internet for a few minutes and then stop resolving anything. Turning the proxy off gives you access for a few minutes and then it stops again. Turning it back on does the same thing!. Really weird and if anyone can help I would appreciate it. Rihc
