Hi All, Well what a great start to 2014. Its been a few months since I have been able to fly FPV due to other commitments and terrible weather. The start of the video is the first full FPV flight I had done in good weather since before the new year and I enjoyed every second of it. I had to calm my nerves doing the close proximity as I had forgotten how much of a rush and fun it was. 2:16 is my first ever FPV flight at night. I have added extra LED's (5050) to the arms so that my spotter had a better chance at understanding orientation at distance in the dark. My hats off to CamSump for being a great spotter in a difficult situation. The Sony PZ0420 (my FPV camera) performed well beyond anything I had expected in these conditions. At 3:21 I could see all the outline of the buildings and details in-between the lights of the town via my goggles but the GoPro just does not pick out all that detail the PZ0420 could see. Hi All, Here is a quick video I made near Vixen Tor on Dartmoor, Devon. It was a very windy day and a lot of effort to stay on course but all made great by such beautiful sights. Best viewed full screen @720p

Hi All, Today I decided to check the range of my DX6i by flying FPV low level in a straight line until I lost signal. I checked my fail safe to make sure it would give 0% throttle. The video signal stayed rock solid the hole time until the bitter end. I flew into the wind incase I had to make a hasty retreat with the wind behind me. Best viewed full screen @720p

Hi All, Some close calls and plenty of close proximity flight! This is a hidden away old mine which is about 500 meters deep and surrounded by derelict pump and engine houses, extra footage was provided by my spotter CamSump and his Quadcopter LOS. Best viewed full screen @720p

FPV Quadcopter Close proximity flight Hi all, Here is a video from the weekend where I try and keep close to the ground while following a path. Really give you a sense of speed. The two clips with the railings were done LOS but the rest was Full FPV. N-joy

Hi all, After a few requests I have put together the basics of a quadcopter that will give you the scope and spec to upgrade and modify on the cheap. With these parts you can get up in the air with a flying weight of about 1Kg and then you can add (maximum) another 500g/1KG payload for camera's/FPV gear etc. The added bonus of this list is that it uses generic parts that if broken it can be brought at any good RC shop/ebay at a fraction of the cost of others. 4 X Hobbywing Skywalker 20A Electronic Brushless Motor Speed Controller 4x Hobbywing Skywalker 20A Electronic Brushless Motor Speed Controller ESC New | eBay £20~ 4PCS 2212 13T 1000KV Outrunner Brushless Motor for RC Multicopter Xcopter NEW 4PCS 2212 13T 1000KV Outrunner Brushless Motor for RC Multicopter Xcopter NEW | eBay £20~ 2 X Counter Rotating Props 9 x 4.5 Pair CCW CW Multicopter Various Colours (MP) Counter Rotating Props 9 x 4.5 Pair CCW CW Multicopter Various Colours (MP) | eBay £6~ Fiberglass & Aluminum 4-axial/Quadcopter X525 v3 Frame for KK MK Multiwii Red/Balck X525 V3 QuadCopter Folding Frame Friber Glass MultiCoptor | eBay X525 V3 QuadCopter Folding Frame Friber Glass MultiCoptor | eBay £15~ iMAX B6 Li-Polymer Li-po NiMh Battery Balance Charger Digital iMAX B6 RC Lipo NiMh Battery Balance Charger UK | eBay iMAX B6 RC Lipo NiMh Battery Balance Charger UK | eBay £23~ Power/ESC speed controller Board For KK Airplane Quadcopter Hexacopter KK MK MultiCopter Power / ESC Board V3 for up to 8 Speed Controllers | eBay £5~ Rabbit Flight Controller Board Quad Multicopter W/Care Free directional Upgrade Aliexpress.com : Buy Group3B:Rabbit Flight Controller & additional board(High precision barometer) & Ultrasonic from Reliable Rabbit suppliers on love Flight £80~ Turnigy 9X 9Ch Transmitter w/ Module & 8ch Receiver (Mode 2) (v2 Firmware) Turnigy 9X 9Ch Transmitter w/ Module & 8ch Receiver (Mode 2) (v2 Firmware) > Radio & Transmitters > Main Page > Pyramid Models £125~ Turnigy 2200mAh 3S1P 11.1v 20C 30C Lipo Battery x 2 XT60 UK Turnigy LiPo 2200mAh 3S 11.1v 20C 30C Brst UK SALE *X2* | eBay £25~ XT60 Connectors 10 Pairs With HeatShrink 10Male 10 Female XT60 Connectors Lipo Battery Deans Replacement 10 Pairs | eBay £9~ =£323~ This is the basics, I would research each part of you build just to make sure its right for your needs. I like tinkering so the frame was perfect for me but there are a huge list you can get. You will need things like velcro straps and duct tape for holding batteries and balencing props and the greatest tool Zip Ties etc and some batteries for the transmitter, the main lipo's will charge from a car battery or a home power supply (max 5A). Maybe call it a JABcopter lol Check out the end section of this video to see the beast flying in some VERY strong winds Most of these videos have been made with this setup jab1a - YouTube

Hi All, A quick revisit to this stunning woods turned out to be great fun. I was convinced that I would be taking the quad home in broken twisted parts but luckily not a single prop was damaged, maybe I just wasn't going fast enough lol. The woods are part of the Great Devon Consols which has a long history of mining, you can see a spoil heap in the video that I dive off for some adrenaline fun. Best viewed full screen @1080p

Hi All, Here's the harsh cuts of some of the flights I did around the beautiful Cornish garden recently. Warning there is some close proximity flying to myself and spotter (not trying to feed the trolls here) that I suggest no one else do as it was very risky but we both accepted full responsibility for anything going wrong. These flights were done on private property with the permission of the land owners, no one had access during my flights. Hi All, The challenge is to get the flock of sheep grouped together and then move them all to the bottom of the field so that they can be sheered. Normally the farmer would have to walk up the field with his dog and use whistles or commands at the dog to round the sheep up and move them to the bottom of the field. The total flight was just under 5 minutes, I decided to use a 1400mAh Nanotech 3s lipo to give me plenty of time out in the field. Near the start of the flight you can see a group of white and black sheep huddled against the hedge that wanted to stay there, these are a different bread to the other white sheep which is why they reacted differently. The farmer commented that the flock seemed a lot less jumpy and less stressed after being herded by the mini quadcopter rather than how they would be after being herded with the dogs, he thinks it might be because they could all see and hear the location of the mini quad whereas the dogs are silent and the sheep are only reacting to the movements of scared sheep close to them which can cause fear which leads to stress. I showed this video to an RSPCA officer and they thought the same as the farmer. Full permission was given by the land and animal owner. The quads Flight Controller and RC Rx fail safes are set to 0% throttle. Thank you to my spotter for the Day Chris. Best viewed full screen 1080p

Hi All, This is a full uncut FPV flight I did around 'The Hurlers' stone circles near Liskeard, Cornwall. It was such a hot day that I found a nice shaded spot to stand while having fun around the stones. The wind was ideal that day, nice and consistent which lead to some nice close proximity flying. My spotter is one of the people I pan around within the circles. Best viewed full screen @720p

This video was made during the weekend during a break in the rain. The video is a bit shakey due to strong winds and also a bent motor shaft, new parts are on their way. Best viewed fullscreen @ 720p

Hi All, Here are some video's that I did over the recent holidays we had. The first two have a few clips of my friend learning to fly his Hexacopter which he built using the parts list I posted on EduGeek. All best viewed in fullscreen@720p FPV Quadcopter Holiday Fun with crash FPV Quadcopter The Bears go down to the woods today FPV Quadcopter Winter Time This last video is a bit shakey because I had a damaged front arm and I later found out I had a bent motor shaft which was sending the flight controller into a quivering mess lol but I was in such a rush to get in the air to capture some snow before it melted that I did not mind. Check out my channel if you want to see more or subscribe so you know when I add a new one https://www.youtube.com/user/jab1a/videos?view=0 So did anyone build a multicopter over the holidays?

Hi All, I got a chance to revisit Wortha Farm and fun some via FPV. It was a beautiful day but I was haunted by the ever present wind. I got plenty of turbulence coming off the banks of the stream while I was low down which just made it even more fun. There was no damage caused by the crash as you can see in the photo at the end. Hi All, Such a beautiful day for a quick FPV flight around the ruins of a building sat next to the River Tamar. Some tight spots to fly though but I do like a challenge. Some extreme jello effect at the start but I think that was due to only having about 10% throttle and plummeting to the ground at almost free fall speeds on a knife edge angle. Hi All, Here is a video that was intense to fly, the added factor of the strong gusts between the trees made for some interesting paths and tight squeezes. I loved every second of it. This is my first 1080p video made using the GoPro Hero 3 Black edition, alot of quality was lost when added to YouTube but it was so dark in there I was amazed at what the results were.
