Office 2003 Mailmerge Problem - Dates!
jcollings replied to elsiegee40's topic in How do you do....it?
I agree with you folks - it's a well known issue and I have fixed mine using the above method. -
Yep - it's rubbish. No - if you don't want to transfer as your current role then you are effectively resigning. If the school said you're a great guy and we'd like you to work for us in a different role (Teachning assistant say) then that is do-able. It is as rubbish as it seems!
-
Sorry to disappoint - if you refuse to transfer you will have handed your notice in. 'Bout half way down this page: Business transfers and takeovers (TUPE) : Directgov - Employment If you don't want to work for the new employer You can refuse to work for the new employer. You must let your current or prospective employer know that you object to the transfer. You'll be regarded as having resigned and will have no right to claim unfair dismissal or to a redundancy payment.

Not my problem next year - it only came my way 'cos the person concerned couldn't do it. Shown them how so it's up to them next time.

I had a go on my mates PS3 last night. It's ok but the cut scenes just go on for ever!
-
Well they'll not be getting ours today as it's only hit my desk at 12 o'clock from the Assessment Deputy Head!

DHCP will set DNS properties.

Same here - I reckon edugeek members should pool them and see how many we can get to!

Will you be upgrading to server 2008 this summer?
jcollings replied to FN-GM's topic in Windows Server 2008
That sounds about right - ours are all Server 2003 though (bought years back when we first installed) so I'd have to rebuy 2008 ones to upgrade. -

We thought about doing our DC's but don't want to have to rebuy CALs for our workstations. -
I tend to agree - if staff wanted to make a nominal donation to the school then I would say that would be about right.

We had the same issue. It appears a batch of Stone laptops were made where they forgot to put locktight on the screws
-
Yes - I hate laptop trolleys (mainl because they get the keys picked off them here and staff don't understand how wireless works!)

For a number of reasons we are changing our logons to initials and last 6 digits of the UPN. If you went for a similar system you could create them now as they should already have their UPN.

Assuming you have imported the T6 timetable into SIMS.net you can do Reports - print timetables in SIMS.Net

We have several RM One's on our non Rm network and they work fine. Also probably the least bother of all our PC's. I'm about to buy 25 more!

This page answers it HD TV explained - Misco.co.uk Your TV (from what you said earlier) can do 720p or 1080i. Which you use is really a matter of personal preference. I prefer 720p on mine.

We were CC2 with RM and went vanilla when CC3 launched. My own feeling was we could pretty much do all we wanted with a vanilla solution ,GPOs and a bit of scripting. We have been that way for about 6 years now and it all seems to tick over nicely. I know Ranger and CC3 pull things together neatly and they have their place IMHO but I really don't think I could justify buying either now. just my 2p worth.

That's what I was thinking

Thanks - I'd already done that. I'm not at the stage of booting a client yet. I am at this bit: Testing your installation After login, click on the Hosts button (single computer monitor). Then click on the Add New Host button. Enter at least a MAC address (seperated by and a hostname and click the Add button. Now click on the Tasks button (the star). Then click on List All Hosts and find the host you just created and click on the Advanced button. Now under Advanced Actions click on Memtest86+ and confirm that you would like to start the task. Now click on Active Tasks and you should see the task that you just created listed. It works fine until I click confirm then instead of going into active tasks it says "Unable to contact tftp server"

OK - I'm having a play with this and have run into a problem. I have Fedora 9 installed fine, FOG installed fine. TFTP service running on the Fedora box. I am trying to do the first test recommended in the FOG wiki which is to run memtest on a PC. When I try to assign the task I get Unable to connect to tftp server. Any ideas where I'm going wrong?
