  1. I regularly use nlite at both home and work without too many issues. However we are trying to get an extra year out of a computer suite by giving it a new image with a stripped down OS. For some reason group policies aren't all installing, and clickview is giving the following error The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E) Does anyone have a clue what it is i keep not including to make these things happen? Cheers
  2. In response to nozza buying one server with power enough to do the job of 3 servers, e.g. our apps, nas and ghost was a lot cheaper then doing it separately. Especially when you realise a lot of the time, those apps and ghost servers wont need to be running all the time, because ghosting may be once a week fi that to be honest.
  3. Id say it gives better value for money as we have a couple of vmware servers, so it means we have maybe 11 servers running on 7 boxes, so we have not had to pay for 11 servers, only the 7 The Vmware servers are also a lot easier to move across as you can just get the vmware file for whatever software it is, then put it in another vmware install. We use it for some apps storage, ghosting and i can't remember what else

  10. Yep we get the reverting to PXE boot issue to im afraid. And as of it yet it is unresolved, we have a mix of stone images and ones that have been redistributed so xp installed from scratch. Still nothing Dont suppose anyone has any other ideas? Besides throw the damn things out the window...
  11. Buy a Microsoft training book for server 2008?
  12. Another vote for FOG for imaging, we used to use Ghost from Norton and tbh FOG is a lot better, free to. Also like the spiceworks.
  13. We had a lot of staff who wanted these, turned out they have limited channels and they started picking up other peoples. They are now on a shelf covered in dust
  14. This makes me sad What OS you using?
  15. Intel core I7, ddr3 RAM 4GB, Nvidia 9800 GT, 1 TB SATA HDD. If only
  16. Would the support come from dell or netgear though? As im not sure i would like Dell giving my network support for a netgear switch? I've heard good things about HP, is there a lot of difference between them?
  17. Doing CCNA, which takes far too much time And want to get the book for MCTS - Vista and work through it then take the exam.
  18. Acer make good laptops, only really problem is they can be quite bulky, and they have a nasty habit of locking the bios, so you can't put any other OS then what it comes with. Somtimes you can only even boot an Acer OS CD to do something like chkdsk
  19. Would you consider netgear? We've got those all over the school, not too expensive and tey don't seem to break, crosses fingers. Netgear ProSafe GS724TS Gigabit Stackable Smart Switch **CLAIM A FREE GIFT** - Ebuyer How good are Dell switches though? With them not being a network specialist company.
  20. Just out of interest, what the hell are you doing that needs a 4th monitor Would a video splitter like contraption work perhaps?
  21. On our netgear rangemax AP's theres an export client for mac address filtering, and obviously an import. If you did this on one, then imported it to all the others it would work, and with mac address filtering would you really need a password? Though passwords are more preferable, MAC is normally foolproof. So then it could just pick up the AP's without problems?
  22. A Samsung clp 300?
  23. What we did was make a user account soley for VB, with 10 accounts and only allowed to use in the time they were supposed to be doing it, all other times the account was locked. This has so far worked quite well. They are also allowed access to near nothing else. Though as above, on my CCNA course we are given a virtual machine to prat about with
  24. What kind of crappy company was it?
  25. Seperate 1TB drivers. One for staff, one for students
