well 2 years ago we bought a load of good spec laptops. It said on the order core 2 duo processor. Sticker on the laptop said core 2 duo processor. Recently i was playing with it and i happened to notice it was not a core 2 duo, it was a core duo. So basically we've been had. Also similar things, such as newish, last summer, computers having pci, not pci-e. Looking up motherboard numbers on NEW pc's and discovering the motherboards are actually a 3-4 year old design. Nothing but dells now... Just cus its intel doesn't mean its not old now does it

What we do is take it off the domain, put it on a random workgroup. Rename. Restart. and then put it back on the domain. Seems to happen mostly when the computer account you want to change it to already exists in active directory.

Ah cheers mate. Sorry i wasn't clear, but i did try bridging first with no success. I read through your link and i didn't set the network bridge an IP address, i just left it alone.. Is this what could be wrong? Cheers

Stone seem to have a horrible habit of buying up surplus stock elsewhere. Basically they will buy 10000 of whatever is cheap on the market, and put it in their PC's

I know this may be a bit out of place but here we go anyway. My wireless router is upstairs, and my xbox 360 is downstairs. I want to get updates for my 360 games so i decided to use my laptop to get internet to it. I did the basics and connected everything, it all said connected, but for some reason i could not get internet on either device, even though i was connected to the router. I turned off the firewall, nothing. I tried to tick the box in wireless connections, properties, advanced that allows you to share your internet with other devices. I got an error message that said it couldnt as the IP address it wanted was in use. I changed the ip address of the router from 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.0.10. Same error. I changed the ip on my laptop to a static of 192.168.0.5. Same error. I walked off in a huff. Could anyone please help, i just want the team updates on fifa for heavens sake Its Windows XP PRO if anyone wonders btw. Thank you

The main reason to buy 64 bit in my eyes is the extra ram issue, no longer limited to 4 GB, if your not going to use more than 4 GB is there really much point? Plus as above there is the whole 64 bit drivers issues.

AS we have just got some new servers in, our boss has rejigged all the scripts from the lovely old batch files i could use, to VBS. Does anyone know of a site or guide i can use to learn this as i would like to be able to edit them myself without having to ask my boss every 10 seconds. Thank you

Your not trying to ghost a stone computer are you? If not change ownership of the /images file to fog.

The Rock laptops truecrypt fine, not a problem with them, though they do still struggle to fog im afraid So is everyone convinced this is a fault of stones bios then?
