I started with 08003890598 who got me transferred to the BT Cloud Voice technical support line.

Same here - zero mentions of Windows 10 on VLSC.

We've had this happening over the past week on random computers with people who connect via our RM Smartcache. Move them to a different proxy and the videos play perfectly. Play via Smartcache proxy and the video either jumps to the end or plays with no sound! We've logged a call with RM to try and investigate any potential issues on their side.

Did anybody ever find a solution for this long term? -
Extracting parent passwords from Frog
john316 replied to woolmer's topic in Virtual Learning Platforms
I think the password exporting is disabled by Frog due to security purposes so you're better off generating random passwords using some Excel generator and then importing them into Frog. That gives you the list then of your passwords. To find the Year 7 parents, head to the Toolkit, click on Tools and choose Parent/Child report. It'll shove a fair amount of info at you but you'll be able to filter down to what you want it to show. -
Its nowhere near mod-able enough to engage middle of the road teachers and pupils though. Too much techie terminology in it IMO like a lot of the open source alternatives out there in software land.

Frog and I Am Learning widget - IE8 - only works for admins

Ours miserably fails for any users using Chrome/Safari due to the pop-up blocking in both browsers. Kerboodle widget is also affected but the Google ones work fine! -
Using jQuery image slider in a FROG page?
john316 replied to john316's topic in Virtual Learning Platforms
I ended up just having to use it within an iframe - I got it really close to working but the page curler seemed to almost clash with it some way. Just sticking it within an iFrame on the FrogWeb share and getting the spacings right gives the illusion of it being properly embedded. -
If you click to highlight a folder then under 'Actions' should be two choices - export as .FRG files or export as ZIP folder.
-
You should have the option to use 'Export as ZIP folder' from within FROG? That will give you it as the ZIP file rather than as an FRG.

I've been trying to get the Nivo Slider (Nivo Slider - The World's Most Popular jQuery & WordPress Image Slider) working on a new FROG page but just cannot get it working at all. I can get the slider showing okay in the page but the Page Curl seems to be broken by the code used in the slider and it just sits in the bottom left of the preview. The previewed slider seems to use a fair amount of CPU so I'm thinking some of the code is causing an issue somewhere! Has anybody got one working with the Page Curl still intact on a FROG page? Did you have to add in anything special to make it work? I have seen it the slider on another's school page but they had somehow hidden the page curl so I'm wondering if its somehow just getting rid of that is the solution? Thanks in advance!

Frog upload Internet Explorer 9 Problem!!???
john316 replied to a topic in Virtual Learning Platforms
Three years sounds unlikely - the indications seem to indicate we'll see many elements of Frog 4 in the next 6-12 months although hopefully the Conference will announce more details! -
Hi We're just investigating if its possible to revoke MAK activations for Office 2010 at all? Can't spot any obvious way of disabling certain KMS activations in case of situations such as people leaving or reinstalls. We use KMS for our domain machines but we have some mini-laptops which we're looking to use MAK keys for as they aren't on the domain and have trouble with KMS activations. Any ideas? Thanks John Morris

Frog Based Website - Unable to hyperlink
john316 replied to riffleman's topic in Virtual Learning Platforms
When I go to the 'Insert Link', 'Internet Page' and I delete the http:// and just type Google then I will see a similar sort of broken link. If I leave the pre-filled in http:// and then just add Google after it then the link is absolutely fine. -
We use the FROG email as a separate sand boxed email system for staff and students - the staff still have their regular separate Exchange accounts but use the FROG email to contact pupils. Our pupils don't have 'proper' email accounts so the FROG email system works great for them.

Multiple servers? The install is a single server and usernames can be automatically created via your MIS connection. It depends what your username set up is in your school. We did ours initially via the MIS import and then used CSVs files to just overwrite the data with the correct usernames. You only do that once and I simply amend new pupils who are imported from our MIS into FROG with the appropriate username. It takes very little time and depending your setup, it may take no extra time at all.

The containers such as the iPad/iPhone are the trickiest to create - you need to play around ideally with Photoshop and then use the Slice tool to divide up the image into chunks. The Frog Community site has a couple of tutorials on the basics plus Frog will also do courses on Photoshop and how to use it to create content for your Frog site.

Hi We're encountering some gremlins on our system and I've been digging through some log files on the switches and see a few of these logged: Jan 13 10:34:31:605 2011 MSTP Critical PFWD Instance 0's GigabitEthernet1/0/16 has been set to forwarding state! Jan 13 10:34:31:599 2011 IFNET Warning LINK UPDOWN GigabitEthernet1/0/16: link status is UP Jan 13 10:34:29:234 2011 IFNET Warning LINK UPDOWN GigabitEthernet1/0/16: link status is DOWN Jan 13 10:34:06:789 2011 MSTP Critical PFWD Instance 0's GigabitEthernet1/0/16 has been set to forwarding state! Jan 13 10:34:06:783 2011 IFNET Warning LINK UPDOWN GigabitEthernet1/0/16: link status is UP Jan 13 10:34:04:394 2011 IFNET Warning LINK UPDOWN GigabitEthernet1/0/16: link status is DOWN What would generate something appearing in the log files on a fairly common basis? Thanks in advance!

Best thing first off is to use the Adobe Application Manager to create special MSIs - RM Communities has a thread with the following writeaccess.ini contents: [C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe] Everyone=0x1301BF [C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe PCD\] SYSTEM=0x1301BF RM Communities

How have you enforced that via ISA server? -
Exchange 2003 > 2010 Transition / Co-existence
john316 replied to mb2k01's topic in Windows Server 2008 R2
Nearly finished our transition - we nearly suffered a disaster as our database trebled in size during the move which wiped out the available space. Had to get another 15k SAS drive to slap into the server. Our only issue is relating to the old server still being used by our new 2010 box for Global Catalog and DC work. We run our Exchange set up in a standalone domain with just the DC in that domain. The 2010 box is locked onto the old 2003 box and just won't shift away from it. I've made the 2010 box a GC but it just wants to use the old box instead. I switch off the old 2003 and restart the 2010 box then it just hangs on 'Applying Settings'. If I untick Global Catalog for the old server then I can't log into EMC so I'm still trying to find the answer for that. Its also affecting the OAB generation as that is generating errors for Outlook users saying An Object is Missing which is the OAB. I think its trying to use the old server to generate it rather than the new box hence the issue. I'm not sure if Demoting the old box will do the trick - always hate messing with AD and Exchange in case it goes belly up! The actual email side of it though is working perfectly and is working very nicely. Doesn't matter how much RAM you chuck at Exchange though - got 12gb of RAM in the box and the Store was using nearly 9gb the other day! EDIT: Managed to get rid of that Outlook error - had to tick a box in Outlook 2003 accounts setting to say Encrypt data between Microsoft Office Outlook and Microsoft Exchange Server. No missing object error now! I think the old Global Catalog issue is pretty much one I'm stuck with. Just can't find anywhere to change it and I can't risk a demotion of the old server at the moment. Got better things to do over Chrimbo than be sat trying to recover from a complete AD mess up. Getting rid of that annoying Outlook error is good enough for now. -
We'll be upgrading from 2003 to 2010 in the next 2 weeks or so - got a new Dell server coming to replace our old HP DL380 and will be doing a full migration to the new box. Should be fun!
-
I would seriously considering phoning RM and pay them whatever it costs to have them come out to you. Sounds like you're in full scale disaster mode at the moment and you can't afford to be faffing around trying to get it up and running again really.

I'd have thought a Blackberry/iPhone/Windows Mobile/Android type of smartphone would be the best solution nowdays?
