Anything by HTC loaded with Android. Their sense interface and Google Android go very well together. Apart from the sometimes dodgy batches of phones they build (of which I got one originally), they're pretty unbeatable. The only thing with Android, try and get a phone with 2.3 on it. It has much better battery life than 2.2 and supports a proxy server.

Pretty much this ^ I remember the reason why I got the Desire rather than the original Wildfire was down to the difference in screen resolutions, which meant that some apps for the Desire were not compatible with the Wildfire. EDIT: Pintail sounds like an interesting app. So when you text the phone that has Pintail on you just send a normal text? 2nd EDIT: Nevermind, just found the info. Seems really good.

PC Peripherals are now taking orders under the Mesh Computers name, says so on PC Pro's news feed. I think it's a shame that it's happened though. All because of the flipping iPad and other tablets that are fashionable.

Ah right. It seems to definitely be the bluetooth. When I'm connected to my audio system via bluetooth, I press the power button to wake the phone up and it briefly cuts out the audio then. I just wonder if it's a problem with 2.2 or the bluetooth module in the phone itself. I know the car is fine as my mate's iPhone 4 works flawlessly. I just wish T-Mobile would release 2.3 for the Desire, then I could have proxy support and apparently a longer battery life.

A 2003 ZX-6R B1H on a '03 plate. Roughly about 18,000 miles on the clock. And a '87 VFR400 NC24 on a E plate with approximately 18,000 miles on it. Basically the VFR has been standing over a year, due to having the ZX-6R. And the ZX-6R has been standing forabout 6 months due to the bad weather and then the cost of taxing and MOT'ing it. I'll be selling the VFR as a project bike probably, even though it's mechanically sound. The ZX-6R is roadworthy and will pass an MOT with flying colours, so will probably test and then tax it (for 6 months).

I have after some consideration, concluded that I must sell both of my motorbikes. Why? Basically, I'm saving for a deposit on a house and can't afford to save money and keep even one of the bikes on the road (well I could but it'd be a stretch). Although it's sad, it means I'll have about a £3k boost to my deposit. So after I've popped them on Adtrader, I'll post the links on here too just in case anyone is interested.

Version 2.2. The annoying thing is that On our way to Flamingo Land, I connected my mate's iPhone 4 to my bluetooth system and it worked flawlessly, so that'd rule out any problems with my car's bluetooth. Gonna try connecting it with a 3.5mm to 3.5mm auxiliary cable to see whether I still have the same problem. If I do, then I assume it's definitely the standard media player at fault. One thing I have noticed is that when your playing audiop through the bluetooth system and the phone goes into standby, when you wake iot up by pressing the power button, the audio cuts out ever so briefly.

When I have my HTC Desire connected via bluetooth to my car (Ford Fiesta '60 plate) aduio system, the playback sometimes has crackles in the middle of the song. I know the MP3 files themselves are fine, so I was wondering if maybe the standard media player is a bit naff. Could someone recommend me a media player that is better than the standard one (and if you could say why, that'd be great) to try. My mate's iPhone 4 doesn't seem to have this problem and he's got an almost identical car. Thanks in advance for the help.

How much is the 207 up for? Sounds like a prertty good trade-in price though.

I have an acquaintance, who at last check was studying network security at Sunderland Uni. So I think the trend of being a techy may well be becoming a lass male-oriented profession. I can't see it becoming 50/50 in the near future though, just because males do seem to show a much stronger interest in the working of the systems rather than just using them.

I can only suggest that if you've not already done so, contact Serif and see if they have any ideas.

You say it happens regardless of pc, do you mean a pc in the same room or a pc anywhere in school? If it's in the same room, then try another room and see if the same happens. If so then maybe you need to check the virtual memory settings on the machine. If it's happening to one user and not another, what happens if you take the document from the user who is having problems and put it into the other user's work area and then export? If that works then it's a user issue, if no then it's a problem with the document. Last time I had a problem with a document, I sent it off to Serif as a sample and the tech guy emailed back after a day or so and said that it was because the kids were using resources from a network resource in a different folder, rather than copying the resource into the folder the document was stored in. It's good that you've eliminated the profiles as an issue. We found a few times that Serif software doesn't always agree with profiles and for us, was recursively creating the same subdirectories over and over until the program could no longer find what it was looking for.

I'm just waiting for the branded T-Mobile release. If it truly does increase battery life and add proxy support then I'll be one happy bunny.

I often find that errors with Serif are fixed with a patch. Make sure it's all up to date. We sometimes have strange errors with our cheaper software, like Serif and Matchware. Just a thought, are you using local profiles? If so, maybe the machines HDD is full and there's not enough space for temporary files.

Are you 100% sure? I was always led to believe they're built in the same factories and then just shipped to the dealers.

I'd recommend a new Fiesta. Comfortable drive and they're pretty well spec'd. I have a 1.25 (82ps) Zetec and my only issue with it is that it's a bit gutless sometimes. For town driving it's fine. If you're looking at regularly doing dual carriageway/motorway driving I'd recommend either the 1.6TDCI or 1.6 Ti-VCT models as they get good mileage and have plenty of poke. Plus, I'm pretty sure the Zetec models (and upwards) now come with bluetooth as standard so you can connect your phone and be listening to your music as you drive. Check your local Ford dealer's website for any special offers etc. My Fiesta is the first brand new car I've bought and I knew I had to have it when I test drove it. I don't think I can recommend one highly enough. EDIT: Also, the 107 is a good little car. Very fun to drive. I had an Aygo on loan from Jennings Ford while I waited for my Fiesta to arrive and I loved the little thing.

Yeah, a few people I know have retrofitted things like MG ZR's with the Land Rover head gasket and they reckon that the engine is pretty much bullet-proof afterwards. My mate who's a mechanic has also said the same thing.

I always recommend that if anyone is gonna go off-road or thinking of buying a Land Rover then get a Defender (or 90/100 as they're also known). Why? They're a proper 4x4 with less poncey cack on them to go wrong. If you want something a bit more civilized and in your price range Jeep Cherokee 4.0 or maybe a Shogun

I think it's more of the logistics that M25Man was meaning. It highlights how much faff on they have with Visas and all that gubbins.

I think the AMD server is maybe a bit overkill for a primary but then again, it would easily be able to cope with whatever demands you have. Here's a thought, if you're virtualising, why not get one of each? A physical server for running your domain and the virtual box to host virtual servers for email, av etc...
