Domino replied to AnnDroyd's topic in Enterprise Software
You might just wanna check in the RBAC that the admin account has the required access. it also needs a mailbox associated with it - the requirements in full are here; Enterprise Support - Symantec Corp. - Exchange 2010 restore fails due to Application Impersonation error. -
ABPs are definitly the way to go - at the end of that link above is a 4 step process to accomplish what you're after - what are you struggling with?

What about when the laptop is stolen/lost? If they assume there's backups...

Security issue? what if someone just yanks the usb drive? Personally - I don't believe there's a technological solution to behavioral issues. show them what they *should* be doing, if they don't, they pay the consequences.

Thoughts and Opinions on our new network setup

NPs -just make sure you're on a 2k8 domain and the DFS boxes are 2k8 - the 2k3 version both sucked and blowed. -
Is it heavy? could be a (L)User Attitude Realignment Tool....

Thoughts and Opinions on our new network setup

If it's just the users directories that'll be replicated you shouldn't have an issue - the only *real* issue with 2k8 DFS we see is if a file is edited at two locations at the same time. If bandwidth is a concern you can also set limits per replication set. The other nice thing, if the sites are setup properly in ADSS then the users will get there closest server on login (obviously unless there's an issue) -

Domino replied to sippo's topic in Windows Server 2008 R2
If you open up the SQL management studio and connect to your instance, then right click any of the databases and choose 'new query' you'll be presented with a window in which to run it. Then hit 'execute' and see if you get anything in the Results window. -

Load the disk into one of these? Joking aside, I actually managed to P2V a 95 machine to our vmware environment. If you install the disk in a machine, boot from the vmware cold clone cd maybe it could take a copy? Although getting it to virtualPC...

We've got a conference phone unplugging monster - especially funny as the voice vlans are separate from the office lan, so I'm not sure what the monster is hoping to achieve...

Guys, you should add DFS-R is what you're talking about here. DFS will allow you to have multiple file paths/servers served under one root path - transparent to the user. The parts are totally usable separately. Also, those of you who've had trouble, the 2008 DFSR version is *much* more reliable, and speedier - upgrading existing rep groups to use it is a pain, but worth it.

Was that really the best screen grab from Okami they could find?

Aye, they've a terrible sound profile - but people love them because of the name/brand/style etc Also, having been stood next to commuters wearing them - they've got a fair amount of spill for such 'high-end' cans...
