Sorry I'm out and about - please check with your support team. Phil

Yes who ever provides support issues patches.

It will take a day to get you onto MyAccount. See below for details! What’s the issue? When designing reports in SIMS .net | Reports | Design Reports and the user attaches a custom Excel Template with the extension .xlsm (Macro Enabled Workbook), when running the report, some users experience errors in Excel at run time. This can happen on the computer where the report is designed, a computer elsewhere on the same network or on a SIMS system where the report definition has been exported and subsequently imported. How are we fixing this? This fix is a front end workstation patch, not a database patch. The patch updates the PULSAR.exe and the ReportUserInterfaces.dll file on the SIMS workstation and you will also need to apply the same patch on the SIMS SQL Server as the ReportUserInterfaces.dll is also required in the SQL BINN directory. There are two routes to fix this issue: 1) SOLUS3 - Apply the package SIMS Workstation Fix No.1 – SIMS Custom Report Template Fix (Patch 22028). This package contains a workstation fix. These notes do not cover how to use SOLUS3 or how to apply the fix via SOLUS3, please refer to the relevant SOLUS3 manuals and guidance. 2) Manual Database Upgrade and Workstation Fix (please allow 60 minutes for this to be available) – For schools where using SOLUS3 is not possible, we have provided a workstation fix that will need to be manually applied to any workstation where these reports are designed or run. Will this be fixed be included in the Autumn 2016 release?

I wonder if this is what you are experiencing? https://myaccount.capita-cs.co.uk/Notifications/SIMS-Summer-2016-Report-Template-Fix/

They aren't normally students if they are applicants.

Please log a case if you haven't already. I'd also recommend using MyAccount for specific SIMS questions as there are many subject experts on there.

Teacher App Problem - Can't Log in to the Management Console
PhilNeal replied to itwitch's topic in MIS Systems
Please email [email protected] with your details so he can follow this up. We have huge numbers of schools using Teacher App daily without issues so I'm confident there isn't a product issue. -
I can't say too much more but the tech is bang up to date.
-
I can confirm that we are not using Silverlight. We have kept Support Units up to date but it is premature to say too much about the next generation of our software more widely. We'll have some very exciting stuff to show off in 2017! PS the apps will work with the next gen.

Indeed yes Programme of Study. The life without levels approach is generally resulting in schools recording progress against each strand in the National Curriculum. We now supply these as standard within SIMS so there's very little to set up and the built in reports are available too.

For a primary use the PoS system that's built into SIMS. No set-up required.

[sims] Import teacher assessment data from NCA TOOLS site
PhilNeal replied to titch's topic in MIS Systems
It is possible to import assessment data into AM very easily through spreadsheets as long as the key references are in there. Format is very flexible. -
FMS Personnel Module - Salary Projections very slow
PhilNeal replied to Delmer_CHS's topic in MIS Systems
It should be around 30 seconds although I haven't looked at this for a while -
Sounds to me as if some of the ports aren't open - the documentation details which ports have to be opened.

[sims] Solus 2/3 - Summer release "Needed" for exam results?
PhilNeal replied to Steve21's topic in MIS Systems
The summer release isn't supported on S2 and patches will be for the summer release. -
[sims] Solus 2/3 - Summer release "Needed" for exam results?
PhilNeal replied to Steve21's topic in MIS Systems
The summer release always deals with last minute info about exams. Unfortunately the AOs/DfE also issue a small number of corrections after this so there is normally a patch or two after the summer release. -
I'll point it out to someone - pleased to say it's not in my division!

The whole DfE process is around primary schools providing data via CTF/ATF files. I'm pretty sure LAs should be facilitating the exchange of this data in CTF format as a part of their responsibilities. The DfE etc will need to re-examine this process in light of the new GDPR regulations where sending unencrypted data in files will be an absolute no no.

No LM is required

You can send Assessment Reports but I don't think you can send Profiles. If you have SLG you can load these and send a message that they're ready for viewing.

NOVA is pretty good at printing stuff out.
-
The idea is that you keep the new timetable in NOVA until its fixed.

Info from our Statuary Returns Product Manager - I hope this helps! FSM Eligibility used to be collected by the DfE as at Census date, but that is no longer the case. The DfE now collects FSM Eligibility as dated records and any manipulating of those records to suit other areas is very likely to lead to false information being sent to the DfE for FSM Eligibility. As these FSM Eligibility records are the main source for the DfEs allocation of Deprivation Pupil Premium, a school that falsifies this information could be accused of misappropriating public funds, which can attract draconian penalties. FSM Eligibility indicates the time periods over which the central authority has agreed with the parent that their circumstances (indicated by certain benefits) can be used to justify a meal that is free at the point of delivery. It has no direct links with the actual taking of a free school meal. Being Eligible for FSM does not force a child to take a free school meal. Moreover, many parents decide not to even apply for FSM Eligibility when their child is taught in years R to 2, as all children in England taught in those years can get a free meal anyway.

PhilNeal replied to MaggieMilligan's topic in MIS Systems
Are you sure your calendar is correctly set up with term dates?
