Makes complete sense. No sitting at lights waiting at 1 in the morning for filters and phases with no one else in sight.

Only 40 years late. They were doing this when I was in Germany in the 70s. One way was on amber continually which meant you gave way.

Anyone remember Yosser Hughes from Boy's from the blackstuff? How not to get a job. Seriously though... It's difficult to get trained without a job and difficult to get a job without training. There is no easy answer, hopefully you will have a sympathetic SIMS Support Team within easy reach with free space on a course, it's worth asking.

Yes but don't do it literally like the foreign lady who was almost demanding a cleaning job at the school I was visiting earlier, in what little English she had.

We have to bring the data back here then FTP it. Fortunately we have fast connection to all but 2 schools. Except the 2 we have no connection to.

Right click 7z file and add password via one of the choices... email, archive... I use CoreFTP which seems really fast uploading lately.
-
Your choice of course.. a shortcut in System Manager, which requires logging in, uses DBAttach, ready to zip... OR one on your desktop, which requires no login, uses DBAttach AND zips the file.

Sorry, yes, Local Authority. It is difficult. Rules on CRBs have changed recently, I'm not entirely sure how much they have been relaxed for someone in your position.

In regard to SIMS. There are no online courses and you cannot, legitimately, get the training manuals. You could try the local support team or LA who might squeeze you into some courses, or you may have to pay. We have in the past trained potential employees for free, if space allows.

Something like this: cd.. cd.. cd "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10.SIMSSQL2008\MSSQL\binn" DBATTACH /AUTO /SERVER=@@@@-OFFICE\SIMSSQL2008 /database=simsburnbp /USER=sa /PASSWORD=@@@@@ /BACKUP cd.. cd.. cd c:\Program Files\7-Zip 7za.exe a -mx7 d:\SIMS\SIMSSQL.7z "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10.SIMSSQL2008\MSSQL\backup\*.bak" optional set FileDate=%date:/=% ren d:\SIMS\SIMSSQL.7z SIMSSQL%filedate%.7z

My question still stands. Run the script, 10 - 20 mins later it's ready to send, all zipped up.
-
Why not use a simple DBAttach script? We do this every night on all primaries and send these to Capita when needed.

Okay, in all seriousness... Costco or Makro. EDIT: You might also ask a small sweet manufacturer.

We have this in one school. Capita solution is detach database and reattach. Not tried it and we are waiting a call for a better solution.

One possible: This is caused by the Anti-Virus software scanning the SIMSLoad.exe within the SIMS .net folder. In order to resolve this issue please add the following locations or files as exceptions; - C:\Program Files\SIMS\SIMS .net - C:\Program Files\SIMS\SIMS .net\SIMSLoad.exe -

What version are you on? If 7.140 have you got .Net 4 installed. Generally with W7 it is permission problems, possibly the Sims .Net folder in this case.
