  1. With the number of users now, even in the smallest primary, the number of transaction daily will be enormous. If logging is to be brought in it will need a lot of thought. ho is going to clean up the logs and who is to say the person under investigation isn't going to clean them. I know it's all down to rights but many schools are a long way from accepting how important correct access rights are. The number of schools that say 'can you make so & so a user of SIMS'.
  2. Our primary schools have 2, Curriculum and Admin. SIMS is available on both.
  3. I realise that, I spend a lot of time trying to get that idea through to 50 odd schools. They think they can do anything they want, so the fact there is an audit trail helps a lot.
  4. Okay. Thanks
  5. DM7 is not separate from from Core SIMS.
  6. How does it manage with Dinner Money 7? That has a pretty comprehensive log of changes.
  7. Things like this happen a lot between schools. Children change their DoB, Name, spelling... you name it. Whoever is importing the CTF needs to understand the basics of databases, she/he might know the child is the same one but the database doesn't. We get quite a few problems relating to this procedure. This is getting increasingly difficult to resolve, especially if the school uses Dinner Money.
  8. If a body works out a sum they want and need, a budget if you like. They take that amount and more, they give the more back, apart from the bank fees and postage, it's not costing them as the costings were worked out years ago. If bank fees and postage cost £2bn the government need to look at bank charges and the Post Office charges.
  9. That's where I'm going wrong. For 40 odd years I was under the impression the government TOOK money from me. Believe me if I had realised I was giving, I would have cancelled the standing order. Off to call the bank now.
  10. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-15363168 'It is estimated these will cost the government more than £2bn.' Why will it? It wasn't and isn't the government's money.
  11. Can you see the 'cloned' pupil? If so try changing the UPN a few times to something different. SIMS keeps the UPN and Former UPN. You need to clear the real UPN from the Former field.
  12. SIMS does, but only fully in the Dinner Money 7 module.
  13. Probably spend most of the day on your backside.
  14. Basicaly, No. There is very little logging in SIMS, unfortunately.
  15. You could say that. We have managed to get most off of the server which was being used as a PC, but not all, in spite of how much it slows it down. Some schools are their own worst enemy.
  16. Practically anyone who performs with Jools is good... which is why I'm trying to work out why he entertains Mel B or C who sounds like she is gargling with Corsadryl and ball bearing whilst impersonating Donald Duck.
  17. Sorry Phil, no blame here on Capita or Discover. Just the age of the servers. In computer years they are lucky to be alive.
  18. We show them. We train them (free). They forget. They ignore. They can't be bothered. We try very hard, some brick wall can't be moved.
  19. She's good, I saw her with Jools at Glastonbury Abbey. Sam Brown (Joe's daughter) too.
  20. I have met and got the autographs of all these:
  21. Used to work for him and his Mrs Sue Blackmore. I used to love his TV and saw him cycling in Norwich once.
  22. He's a bad mother..
  23. I'd forgotten High Noon, 'Paris, Texas' (even more Cooder) and Shaft.
  24. A good dance film. Any soundtrack by Lalo Schifrin...
  25. I'd forgotten about that one. And filmed partly in one of my favourite places, Avebury.
