We use ie and not had a problem. I remember kicking up a sh!t storm though with them because I wasn't prepared to take use chrome instead excuse. Told them it was lazy to not develop their software with the updates with ie. Make sure you haven't got renaissance learning domain stored in compatibility mode list. They use to say compatibility mode is the only work around. Then they updated the site which broke viewing it compatible mode.

Dodgy ground really... i have always tried to avoid this if i could help it but on the one occasion i have had to do it i have asked for written permission from staff1 to give either full or read only access then using item level targetting gpo to assign staff2 an additional mapped drive to staff1. obviously you would need to ensure the nt and share permissions are set correctly inform staff1 that it is then their responsibility to return after maternity to inform you to reverse the changes.

Staff here export them to excel and have asked me in the past something of similar nature.

never managed to fix the original problem but have managed to get it running on my 2012r2. All synced up with no errors. I suspect something has happened in the past that has properly screwed up the installation. ADConnect is definitely uninstalled off my 2008r2 server but running the MSI thinks its still installed and crashes when trying to repair it. The proxy error I had happened to be fixed by copying the proxy setting that was edited in machine.config also into web.config and rebooting the server. usesystemdefault="true" proxyaddress="http://proxy:port" bypassonlocal="true" />

yeah it matches but I have just read something in that same link about specifying Authticating service account in a custom setup. which I don't recall doing so going to try that

funny enough no. as far as the server is concerned it is uninstalled or repaired successfully I have configured the web proxy in machine.config as it was on my 2008 r2 dc previously but no luck

OK exported the settings from sync services Have tried to remove AD connect but get the same error invalid class. it looks as though the upgrade in the first place has properly screwed something up to the point I cant reinstall or remove AD connect on this server. I can repair the installation but it crashes with the error invalid class. Any thoughts?

Try the earlier driver revision. Or Try downloading direct from the driver vendor. Eg realtek, Intel etc Iv also had some success with Sted suggestion

Tbh I am really not sure. This is the first time I have actually touched ad connect so I'm just getting my head around it. It is installed on a 2008r2 dc.

My pc is windows 10 and has always kept sync which means something is interfering and doing something that it shouldn't. I hope you get it sorted. Hi I noticed after a user reported that they couldn't log on to O365 that it is reporting that my directory sync is out of date on my server and hasn't synced for more than 3 days. If I perform a manual full import within Synchronization Service manager, the end user can log back in but led me to investigate and address the out of date directory sync. We currently have AD Directory Sync for O365 installed and it looks as though someone has attempted to upgrade to AD Connect, failed and given up. I have Azure AD Connect shortcut on my server's desktop however when I run it it comes up with an error on load "Invalid Class". if I run the Synchronization Service Manager it reports the AD Sync Service is not running. I can start it but it seems to crash and stop the service periodically which I assume is linked to the failed attempt to upgrade to AD connect. Looking at video tutorials of the AD connect upgrade seems straight forward so cannot understand how the techy has managed to partially screw it up Do I just reinstall the service from scratch? how does that affect my users already who use O365? I would be grateful for any advice/help anyone can give. Regards

useful log file Im afraid i am just as much at a loss as you now. how old are the computers? have you tried replacing the CMOS battery in a couple computers. i originally eliminated this as a cause as i didnt see it likely all your w10 computers had cmos battery issues Have you got any windows 7 computers? how are they at keeping sync?

did you try enabling debug as i suggested above to see if if gave you any more information as to what it is doing? and check your scripts you have running during log on and log off judging from what you are saying the time is not drifting out but it is like they are syncing with another time source. are the affected computers consistently losing time by a certain number of seconds (which in my opinion it is syncing with another peer when it cant contact your dc) or is it completely random between computers. can you tell im clutching at straws now

how are your users home directories mapped? \\server\homeshare$\user or \\server\user$

that may be a wise idea. my wsus server updates from its own database rather than internet.

try switching debug on w32tm /debug /enabled /file:c:\w32tm.log (just check the syntax) hopefully this may give more info as to what is going on on the affected machine can you look at the system event logs also. you will see loads of Time-Service events. do they all report
