when you mention you cleared out c:\users does that include the default user which is a hidden folder that resides there. we had a similar issue which showed similar symptoms to this after a technician deleted the contents c:\users folder. after restoring the folder from a backup it worked again. it may be more difficult if you have deleted all the linking registry keys also as no one thinks to backup the registry before modifying it. Maybe a vhd server restore is required and may be the quickest solution.

is it a local exchange? try restart the service microsoft exchange address book. Similar thing happens to us where we cant expand groups every now and again. i have investigated on and off for about a year but have not come to a cause. Hope this helps

i too can understand the reasoning for not using single sign on. it adds another layer of security for the schools most sensitive and confidential information because we all know we can not trust a teacher not to leave themselves logged on anywhere. Not that I am aware of. I recently just got rid of 2 dpm servers as I consolidated them in to one brand new one. Never had the issue destroying data as I held the old servers for a month whilst new backups were created. Sadly you don't have this luxery. The only alternative would be to delete the protection group deleting the data and then recreating the group on the new disk. However this is a huge risk as you lose all backup protection.

Is that 3 out of 3 fails. I would say return them. It's obvious the downgrade facility that they provide is not working. If you want them on 7 I would clean install them rather than downgrade them. Cleaner and you know that the drivers installed are not conflicting win 7 with windows 8 drivers that would be still present after the downgrade

+1 @Michael It is likely to be a driver issue if you are imaging the computer. If imaged try creating a clean boot image with the zoomstorm nic driver only.

What's the end game? Are you replacing the disk and is it in a raid? We only have one large storage pool so I am not sure whether this will work If you delete the protection group retaining the data. Then recreate the protection group choosing a different disk does it not transfer the data over or will it reconnect back to the same data partition like it would in our single storage configuration

Ideally i would try and get to your next holiday and redesign those vlans maybe consolidate a few together or at least work out how many of those addresses in each vlan you are utilizing. I have seen NIC's that are on the mainboard being named LOM i assume to differentiate between them and a HBA card. Lights Out tend to have their own NIC which do not show up in Network connections. Sounds like you may have missed something when creating the virtual switch. I remove it and try again Is LOM1 part of a teamed connection? Did you select the team connection when installing the virtual switch?

Has the switch it's connected to got a routing table or any logs that may disclose ip traffic to it.

It is likely that your san will be static addressed so wont show up in dhcp. Try angry ip to scan for live ip's then it will be a matter of process of elimination. If you can narrow down the ip range as much as you can it will reduce the labour of checking every ip that it returns. Assuming once you find the ip you have the credentials to log on to it. Good luck
