absolute shower of s**t yesterday Germany were there for the taking at 2-1. All England had to do was compose themselves. Don't forget there is normally a tab on backup tapes to protect the tape from accidental deletion. On our AIT4 tapes its on the side orange. Another bit of protection.

I have a HP Color LaserJet CP1515n here that refuses to print cyan. When you try to print a document with blue in it, the page prints out red. However when i print out a supplies page and diagnostics page, cyan prints out. When i print a windows printer test page, the xp logo doesn't print the blue part of the logo; it comes out as a faded red colour. I have tried the following: changed the toner upgraded firmware reinstalled driver used the HP Universal driver tried printing using different programs tried printing using usb and network interfaces tried different computers tried the cleaning function on the printer does anyone have any ideas to what could be wrong with it?

I've given up blocking sites etc. I figure if the teachers aren't willing to enforce punishments then there is no point. I dont know how we got through our recent ofsted without any of the inspectors noticing kids on games.

the thing is i haven't changed anything. the antivirus scans are still the same. i had a similar thing happen before where it was Symantec AV scanning things so the AV was the first thing i checked. I've checked the backup exec exceptions and there is nothing noticeable. i had the 12hour backup time due to the old hardware on the server but now i'm lost.

i'm a bit baffled, the backup exec job time on our cc3 dc went from 12hours 30mins to 3hours overnight and i'm trying to work out why. we replaced the ait2 tape drive on our cc3 dc about a year ago with an ait4 tape drive. the dc is a windows 2000 server running running Symantec Backup Exec 12. i've compared the slow and fast logs and all i can see is the job rate has increased on all the drives its backing up. we haven't made any system changes, the amount of data is the same, we are still using the same tapes. i cant think of anything else that would have caused it?

We are always getting this error on our cc3 machines especially the RM ASCEND 2020B machines (black P4 CPU) when windows is booted: Windows XP could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM the only way to fix this is to rebuild the pcs or boot into recovery console and copy the missing files from cd. I've tried logging a call with RM about the possible reasons for the error coming up and they dont seem to have a clue to why. does anyone else get these errors on their cc3 network?

would you consider ebay? maybe pickup a 2nd hand one in good condition for cheap? otherwise tescos and asda normally have freeview boxes under £20. i got mine from tescos years ago; never had problems with it.

you can filter the subscriptions for event log forwarding to show only critical errors etc and also filter it down by event source; its really in depth. i'm not sure how you would auto refresh the event log though. i was planning to use it so we could identify potential problems before they happen.

if you have a spare windows 2008 server you can set it up to forward event log entries to the server. Centralized Auditing is here and it's FREE!

rm cc3 student network and vanilla admin network, circa 1200 users, about 400 desktops and laptops, and supporting anything with a plug with 1 Senior Tech and 1 Tech and 1 Network Manager. have 36 calls open at the moment and as of 4th march we had 100 calls in march alone, 121 total in feb and 152 total jan. we log student requests (shows time spent on basic stuff reset passwords), staff requests and department jobs as these all affect our time and are trying to put a case forward for a another person to join the team. helpdesk hasnt been in place for long though and i suspect there are more calls that are not being logged by staff. we also havent put in a knowledge base properly yet and dont have proper training for staff (we want to create some training videos in flash) as i would hope this would reduce the amount of calls by a lot!
