Have to say a big thanks to Dan for helping us with setting up our new Schools Agreement. He managed to beat Insights pricing which had already smashed everyone else out of the water so a big thumbs up from me

I should also mention that I've used CP for toner as well and they've always been good

I know we've used Concita (Welcome to Concita - 020 8905 1707 - Computer Supplies and Stationery) for toners. Just moving to a managed print scheme however so hopefully won't be needing to buy toners any more!

I had a similar problem with the HDD LEDs on one of our X4150's. For some reason the LEDs wouldn't come on (despite lighting up like they all do during the power on) during normal operation. I hadn't gotten round to submitting a support request for it yet, but I noticed the other day they were working again No idea what the problem was, or what fixed it!

I've noticed that ASR reregsitering problem the last couple of days. Seems that whenever I reboot the 7110 we've got it's reregistering its self.

The loan is provided by the student loans company which is run by the government. You apply either through your LEA or through Student Finance England (who also run the online application system). Elegibility for a loan while studying overseas depends on your circumstances, and heavily depends on what your LEA supports. Different LEAs have slightly different rules/interpretations of the rules when it comes to support while overseas. For more info on the overseas student loans it's best to contact your LEAs student loan department and ask . I know when I was helping my sister sort out her student loan while she was to be studying in Australia for 6 months that it was a real pain to get them to release it early (the Australian term started July or something like that), or to even give it to her in the first place!

Woo got an email from Microsoft with our MVLS keys for everything on our schools agreement order and it included the 2008 R2 and Windows 7 KMS keys Looking forward to the ISO being released now!

Sounds similar to our move! Just getting everything ready here for the move - starting by tidying the office! Looking forward to being able to use Edumove to save the hassle of moving all those files!

You can also use the camera on phones/pdas to read barcodes. I've seen applications on both Android phones and the iPhone that do this, and I know both have libraries that you can use to build your own barcode reading based system

Is the 2008 R2 key available as well? I don't have access to the MVLS site until microsoft send through my login for our new schools agreement

Looking at the Pugh website it seemed to indicate that schools pricing was around £5/CAL and a couple of hundred for the SCCM server license.

If you have a schools agreement and are using the desktop pack (which includes the Core CAL pack) then the SCCM client CAL is included. The server is around £25-30/year on a schools agreement.

Well I'm going to be trying out some of SCCMs other features for patch management/image deployment. But I wasn't sure if we'd want to move from FOG to it for OS deployment as well Out of interest what are you using SCCM for, and any tips for a SCCM n00b?

We're currently using FOG as our OS imaging platform, but since we're moving to 2008/2008 R2 this summer and have just taken out a schools agreement I'm also looking into SCCM or WDS as alternatives. I was just wondering if anyone had already trialled/compared these three solutions and what your thoughts on them were? Just starting to look at it here and I'm not sure we'll be moving from FOG but it's always good to know the alternatives

I'm hoping that we'll be getting access to Windows 7 on August 7th as per When will you get Windows 7 RTM? - Windows 7 Team Blog - The Windows Blog Ray - do you know, or could you find out, if Windows Server 2008 R2 is being released at the same time as Windows 7 to volume license customers with SA? I know from the server team blog that they said they're aligned with the same GA and RTM release times as the Windows 7 team, but it would be nice to know so we can start planning. We're hoping to setup a 2008 R2 network this summer rather then have to do 2008 -> 2008 R2.
