IP Phone network to analog fax. Which connector
mjs_mjs replied to Dos_Box's topic in Wireless Networks
to cange our external firewall i have to fax them....so oldskl and slow!!! -
the big red button you hit and it kills all power in the room. Emergency power off. it's used in big data centers to shut everything off should there be a problem (such as fire).
-
our cabs are earthed via the pdu also
-
yes they should be earthed !!! if a live wire were to fall out and touch your rack (in an uncoated part) and you another - you would get a potentially fatal shock. if eathed they should short the fuse/pop a breaker, alerting you to an issue. u should also have EPO's on the room and on your UPS's too to avoid issues of electruction. i'm not qulified ither - but i know enough to say the above.
-
no, but our boards have a USB to serial convertor (from smart) which appears as a convertor in device manager. if you have one of these try reinstalling that.
-
agreeded - camera though a composite camera (yellow normally) to a TV, simple. show them and thy get them to do it. they should know this sort of thing if they teach media studies and the filming module. they should know it anyway if they are asking for it!

the linksys too come with a lifetime warentee, nothing wrong with netgear as people have stated. if i were to try and do a like for like comparison of a netgear product i would say the GSM7324 is close to the linksys2024 in spec and probably about the same in performance. but i've found it for 415£ (netgear) where the linksys i can find for 220£. so for the monney you get more with linksys. with the cheaper netgear stuff the.... i use the cheaper stuff without issue in a production enviroment... we use both (cheaper and more expensive) on our network wihtout any issues other than the one mentioned above. i agree, nothing wrong with netgear - you just get more for your monney with the linksys2024 than you can get for equilivent money from netgear. thats really my only point. even tho now reading back - the linksys2024 isn't a consumer switch so is off topic. i think consumer switches are the cheaper smaller swites that are made to ''look nice'' and sit on peoples desks. like the white ones from netgear?

in comparison to what??? there in a different legue to the netgear ones i've used. the netgear white series are ideal for home and home office anything up to 30 devices say, the netgear blue series are layer 2/3 switches and ideal for small networks say upto 50 to 100 devices there not particularllaly good for the monney. the linksys 2024 are an enterprise switch ideal for edge of network or the larger network, we use them as both edge of network and soon for upgrading some 10/100 +2*1000 switches. they are very good value for money. they can be anything from a single switch hosting DHCP to part of a fully integrated RADIUS secured network (i think) with multiple Vlans and Port trunking. very flexible. it all depends of the money you have and what you want from it. the better netgear cost about the same as the linksys if i remember correctly, i would go for the linksys over netgear anyday. if you want any more info about then google it or ask and i'll do my best to answer it.

they should only get it once. we have exchange 2003 - thats what happenes here. i think it's the same for 2007.

i've been netgear at home for a long time now - no issues at all. thats with 2dc's, 5 clients, web server and net storage. the linksys2024 seem to be good GB switches. we use them here without issues, and also use netgear 5port GB switches (were about 25£ i think) i know they do an 8port version. only issue we sometimes have with them is having to manually hard reset their power if the DHCP goes down.

doesn't the wallpaper refresh when you come back from screensaver?? if your xp couldn't you add a webpage to the desktop by having an 'active desktop' go to display properties, desktop, customize desktop, web, and add a shared html or php page containing your xml data. this is a way anyway.

-
how do you enable outlook anywhere and will it solve the following issue; exchange server with static IP and me wanting to log into it from home using outlook 2003/2007 so that i can access all of outlook, calender, tasks ect? i have access to the external firewall setting so can open ports if they have to be perminantly open, but my boss is using his iphone so i guess some are alreddy open.

i would like to change mine also - does anyone know an admin who would do this for us?
-
if you go to Home, you'll find the e-mail in a menu from there....
-
