sounds like there are a few other people who are into the whole 80s cartoons thing, thought i was the only one lol. I have had this on pre-order for a while now, was annoyed when they said the release date was june. Have many other box sets as everyone has described above. Have about 400 videos under my bed, in my cupboard of cartoons, used to spend alot of time at car boot sale searching in box after box for anything i could find, sadly dont have the time to do that now, plus most come out on dvd. Made myself a website a longtime ago based on 80s cartoons, pretty basic but never kept it going or updated it that much. You cant beat the way cartoons used to be. Not the same now.

Personally i wouldnt bother wasting your time deleting the games, as they will soon learn to rename them. I delete games each term and i leave it up to the teachers to make sure they dont play on them, used to spend all my time trying to figure out how to stop this but sometimes the solution is to leave this in the teachers hands.

Yes if i were to do ipconfig on the machine themselves it would bring up different IPs I am not sure how i would check the DNS entries on the server, any chance you could explain where to look. The computers themselves all work and connect, but for some reason i cant ping them by name.

Not sure how to explain this one, but we have about 250 machines on the network, but there are about 4 or 5 machines that when i try to ping them by the computer name they return the same IP address. Hopefully this is something easy to resolve. Have attached screen shot of two computers i know about.

Would the script cause any problems regarding many students logging on at once, and all trying to write to the same file at the same time. As i was interested in using this as well.

I can see this being a problem in our school too, some of the more clever kids have found out differnt commands and are messing around, not long before they figure out the ping command. Any chance of seeing your php script.

I guess this is the perfect example of how BSF will help ICT in a school. I hate the fact how some people make others seem like they are lower than them, my view is that everyone is equal and has a differnt role, without one the other would not work properly, i know this does not happen and is an idealistic view. We had a similar setup here before i started and everyone had full access and what happened in the end was the kids eventually were able to bypass the proxy and got on to porn, this ended up in all the papers, the head, NM all resigned/sacked. Without the propery security anything could happen. If it did all go wrong, i am sure the SMT with there admin access would not fix the problem or take the blame, they would put it all on your head. What is your role in the school and what is your job description and role look like. If this and IT Technician, then as with myself i have the responsibility of installing software, making sure the licencing is right. As said by most other here, they could comprimise any aspect of the network by having full access.

we use lanview to shut the machines down at the end of the day. I usually run it manually one the student machines, but it does also shut them down incase anyone turns them back on.

We got this email also and have had a brief look at it. To be honest from first glace i think it is clean and easy to use, but there is a lot to set it up. As we work on a 2 week rotation, we have to add in every single week at a time and set them either week 1 or 2. Also the problem with a user removing someone elses booking. As someone else said if it is possible someone will do it. We have contacted them about if we go ahead and order do they offer any customisation, can't imagine they do, but can't hurt to ask. Have used webmans CRBS but unfortunately cannot get it on to the web. Webman should sell this to the schools and host it himself elsewhere. We have a booking system that we currently pay £200 a year for.

Do you have any kind of proxy server that may be blocking the site or part of the site.

does this happen in a new text document, mabye she has altered the normal.dot template and altered any margin settings. If this doesnt happen in a new docuement, copy all the text into a new word docuement, you might have to alter the text style so it does not copy any of the formatting over. We have some kids here that have a similar problem and i have always been able to rectify by pasting in a new doc.

I think we need to see the script to figure out what can be done to alter the problem. I understand what you are saying, the script runs on logon, if it doesnt fully fit a certain criteria it then logs the user off, removing the outlook part logs the user off so you cant take this out before being able to work out why the error comes up, if you could remove it from the script you would set exchange up to add the exclaimer in exchange. I have to agree it did sound at first like you were not wanting to listen to what anyone was saying, but i can understand that you cant make any changes without approval.

I have already tried that an i wasnt able to get it to work. The problem i am having is that staff and students drag files on to the CD drive for writing cd's. It currently asks them to insert a disk, even if one is in. I looked in the properties of the CD drive and i noticed in the recordings tab that Enable CD recording on this drive is not ticked, but below it says that an administrator can only change this. If i log off as admin, change it then back on as staff or student the button is still unticked. Is there anyone else out there with a similar problem. Thanks

Does anyone know the registry key to add or remove the check from the "Enable CD recording on this drive" selection on the Recording tab of the CD drive property sheet.

currently have this in the logon script Have i missed anything or made any mistakes. With this it still does not disable it.

I have applied this but when i press the shortcut it pops up a message about turning high contrast on. Do you run the script on logon or on startup, or both. It is currently set for logon, does the script run under there logon or as an admin, could it be an access issue.

I have had this problem as well, i get dry skin on my hands, face and legs its a right pain in the a$$$, i have put this problem down to being in a room all day long with the air con on constantly. I have E45 which is always amusement to some students when they see it. Out of curiousity is being in room with air con bad for my health in any way.

what happened in the end, did you go to a union and discuss it, what is the salary for this ICT Teaching Assistant, also what does the job description have on it, any chance of a link. Do you have anything else lined up now, or have you just had enough?

we use AV Manager , i would suggest no one buy it as it is awful, have had nothing but trouble trying to set up the schedules.
