If you have GAM setup, and you can get an MIS export that has student email address in a column, and parent email address in another column, then its fairly quick to do. If you can't get those columns together from your MIS, then it may take you some time. Just let them know it's going to arrive before it does, else you'll have panic set in with parents thinking it's someone attempting to hack. I speak from experience on that one.

And to add to this, I'd create your OU structure, and then just enroll two devices. One for staff and one for students. Put them into their respective Sub-OUs, and start configuring that way. Then when you enroll the rest, just put them into their correct OUs and you're away.

I've had a play with BandLab and whilst it's good, it still seems a little limited to me in terms of functionality. Are they using it becuase its a "Free SoundTrap" ?

Which features in particular do they want that are missing from Meet currently, or aren't due in the next few weeks? Basically, don't trust them. Their previous behaviours have shone a negative light, and they've made claims that have been disproven before. Just their nerve at installing backdoors to allow them to trigger a reinstall on Mac OS by running a web server on your device was enough for us to never, ever go near them. The security holes they've had have also been huge ones like password stealing and remotely accesing webcams without user knowledge. It's privacy policy was also very questionable. Fool me once, shame on you... It's also much poorer video quality than Meet. We highly discourage Zoom, and only allow it for use when it is being used hosted by a third party. We don't instigate them. At all. Chopping and changing seems counter-productive to me, and Zoom is also far more expensive that G Suite Enterprise for Education. The features we need will be with us, if not already then within a couple of weeks. Change for the sake of change isn't good change. We already have systems in place, that are integrated and work well through G Suite. Others have the same with Microsoft. Seems foolish to buy a third system in just to handle video calls to me.

That depends on your job. I'm G Suite Coordinator. The entirety of my role can, and is being delivered remotely. We have two IT Techs who are on the ground who are on-site for physical issues. I'm off-site. Our HR are off-site. Our finance team are rotating.

I will be honest. I did create a big reply to this a few days ago, and I even did screenshots with GAM sheet exports, but I shut down the computer at the end of the day before I hit reply. Well if Classdojo hasn't convinced me of that, then thats a problem with Classdojo's promotional work, especially when they're most recent YouTube video says "portfolios" in the title. Its like looking at a bicycle with a trailer next to a box van and pondering "So... Which one should I use to move house?" Moving to a cloud based service, and using online learning tools is about changing how you work, and how children work to give them 21st Century skills. You can't just take what you already do and try and do a version of that digitally. Especially with PDFs. You should take the time, be it using Google, Microsoft, Frog, Blackboard, Canvas, or yes, even Classdojo, to work on how this new way of working and how you're going to transform teaching and learning using digital tools to do it. However if they just want to hand out worksheets and create portfolios from the work but digitally instead of printing and investing in scrapbooks and pritt stick, Classdojo can facilitate that, so just use that. No point in using a hammer when what you need is a screwdriver.

At an old job, when our system died (though the company who supported it regularly took backups) they managed to restore the information directly from the paxton access controls. How, I don't know. But they were able to pull the access data back into the Net2 that way.

If they are signed in to a Google or G Suite account when they receive the email, it will attach to that particular email address for that account. Perhaps it's that? Make sure you tell them to sign out before accepting invites.

Does it tho? It's just an eportfolio meets a Facebook feed. If it works for you, great. But i'm not convinced it's anything more than a social feed for parents rather than a functioning platform for learning.

The only time I've ever seen this, is if someone has previously deleted their Classroom folder. Either student or staff. The only thing you should ever do to it is give it a red colour label and then rename it "DO NOT TOUCH" Otherwise, never ever go near it.

Google's "special offer" has been in place since they launched Enterprise, and was supposed to complete at the end of 2018. So, I wouldn't expect sudden price hikes any time soon, or student licensing to start costing anything anytime soon either. But again, students, unless they need the features of Enterprise don't actually need it to be licensed at all. We are only licensing SLT for our primary, and select staff who need advanced features for our Secondary.
