https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/compliance/get-started-core-ediscovery?view=o365-worldwide Give yourself eDiscovery Administrator rights. (you might want to get that signed off by your Safeguarding, HR and Data Protection Officers - it gives you 'god like' powers to see *EVERYTHING* including emails, IMs and documents that people have deleted) I've been advised it can take 24hrs for the relevant permissions to propagate through 365 and come into effect. eDiscovery is a lot better than it was a few years ago, and far more capable (for what I've needed) than was possible in the Exchange Admin. However if all you are after is export to .pst or "delete this email from all mailboxes right now!" it is somewhat unwieldy. For running an investigation, keep it all in eDiscovery. Run the searches and review the results and report your findings. When adding yourself as an eDiscovery Administrator - use your Display Name not your email or SAMAccountName.

[SCCM 1910] Software Update to 20H2 Not Applying
psydii replied to Manny-Tech's topic in O/S Deployment
SCCM should be on 2006 with ADK 2004 to fully support 20H2. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/configmgr/core/plan-design/configs/support-for-windows-10#bkmk_20h2 -
Resetting all office 365 users photos to default.
psydii replied to kennysarmy's topic in Cloud Services
try something like: $userstxt = Import-Csv users.csv $i=0 foreach ($user in $Userstxt) { remove-userphoto -identity $user[$i].users -whatif $i=$i++ } -
In my experience, if you have less than 10Gb of free space dedupe can sometimes stall. When this happened to us we were able eat into our reserves and increase the size of the disk presented to Windows 10Gb at a time. vcentre shouts at me every time I open it up now. So glad covid forced us off into the cloud.

In cases like this, your employer.

This time trying to make a political point she evoke false equivalence by way of reference to the Holocaust. There are very few indefensible arguments, but that is one of them. Its a real shame, I know several women who really loved her character for the reasons admars mentioned about. They were blissfully unaware of her personal political views.

So I believe that the TPM for Gemini Lake is in firmware. DfE have probably required it to support intune and bitlocker, but it might not be standard.

Resetting all office 365 users photos to default.

It takes even longer (2+ weeks!) for Teams clients to sync up too. -
We've had two that do this. Similar experience with getting support.

We use powershell to delegate to groups. I've found it to be unrealiable. Often (always?) when the membership of the group changes, the delagation needs to be remove and re-added to provide access to the new person.

No idea if there is an easier way than to build the whole app yourself, but in case there isn't and that is what you have in mind: Assessments can be accessed via graph api. Attachments are stored in the "Student Work" Document Library of the Team's SharePoint Site. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/education/deploy/configure-assignments-for-teams https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/graph/api/educationclass-list-assignments?view=graph-rest-beta https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/graph/api/educationoutcome-update?view=graph-rest-beta&tabs=http

I did this using a group rather than granting per user. It was so long ago I can't find the script, but the above seems familiar, perhaps it will take the group-email as the -user property?

SIMS reports> mail merge via remote desktop failing
psydii replied to coolhands's topic in MIS Systems
Has the Remote Desktop had Office up/down-graded recently? https://www.kunal-chowdhury.com/2018/06/hresult-0x80029c4a.html If it does need the nuclear option, one of the scripts here should help clean the server before a re-install Office: https://github.com/OfficeDev/Office-IT-Pro-Deployment-Scripts/tree/master/Office-ProPlus-Deployment/Remove-PreviousOfficeInstalls -
We just use Teams. One Team per exam. Meeting organiser is one of the exams team. Invigilators watch everyone. Doesn't necessarily cut it for Public Exams, but deemed (by our SLT) "good enough" for everything else.
-
Nope, I am afraid that is wrong. I mean it *should* but that is not what the documentation says, nor is it the actual behaviour of the system as built. However, the other steps you suggest are great ideas, provided you have also disabled Anonymous access.

Fraser Speirs (now a Head Teacher) talks about his experience, learnings and the future through the lens of the pandemic. https://9to5mac.com/2021/02/02/how-covid-19-has-forced-us-to-rethink-technology-in-education/ (not a puff piece for Apple. Fraser bailed on the Apple platform a year before the pandemic, though you'll note that his staff have benefited massively from the luxury of having their old iPads alongside their Chromebooks)

To get 3rd party engineer to site (say from XMA / RM / EuroEle etc) with the skills represented by that £220 would be north of £600 per day. For that £220 I have had multi-day engagements with escalations to the development team... and when I had one ticket that was a 10 minute fix I then got several hours of what was in effect 1:1 training from the engineer who owned the ticket plus "hey, look any issues at all with that service, just drop us a call in the next week and we'll fix that too" I look at the tier 1 supplier (HP/Dell) support contracts (aka warranty+software) + the ad-hoc engagements as significantly cheaper that the most junior of technicians, but delivering the skills of multiple 60K+ product experts. The software and services we have access to as part of our education licences costs a friend of mine's company over £300,000 per year (similar staff headcount). They then pay additional for contracted support, which costs more than our entire software budget on its own.

£220+VAT gets you similar levels of support as to a 365 incident. Used it for help with restoring AD, Exchange and investigating SQL server timeouts, and currently thinking of raising one about a wmiprvse CPU utilisation we are seeing across the estate. https://support.serviceshub.microsoft.com/supportforbusiness/

...also I have had more contact with more DSLs and fellow IT bods in the last three weeks than I've had in the last ten years! This is bringing us all together!

Anonymous off; Guest On. This should allow anyone from a Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace organisation to join meetings pretty seemlessly. ...including (unfortunately) students from other orgs wanting to zoom-bomb the lesson. Though this does produce a lovely audit trail. You can also create guest who authenticate by responding to an emailed code - this for us *always* works - provided we hold the hand of the guest as they go through the process - on this I am too technically competant to grasp how people can be failing to follow the step-by-step instructions. If we don't help people on it really is 50:50 For now, we still have anon on because for now we (The Head) hold(s) out hope that teachers appreciate the benefits (Parent engagement - particularly Parents Evening is widely considered to be much better over Teams), and therfore the hassle of setting and using the lobby correctly is in their own interests. It does help that our Head has a 10yr background in being a DSL, so they are able to hold their line against doomsayers in the staff/unions crying "but what about safeguarding!"
