COMPETITION TIME: Come up with a Name for John G's Homebrew Ale!

Good morning lovely Edugeek!

I've a fun little competition for you today. Some of you may have already seen that our own Johnnie Graham is turning his hand to a spot of home-brewed craft ale.

Well, I'm taking the opportunity to hijack his moment of glory a little...

From today and running until bonfire night, I'm going to hold a competition to name his ale!

The rules are simple. Come up with a fantastic name for said beer - My current thoughts are something along the lines of Graham's Finger... The name should be funny, safe for work (although we encourage puns and innuendo) and should describe the beer adequately.

Submissions to be posted in this thread, we'll pick a winner after the 5th November.

Additionally, you can also enter your very own design for a beer pump clip for said beer.

You'll find lots of templates here.

There will be a suitably beery prize for the best name AND the best clip. Six of the best ales from the superb Mobberley Brewhouse.

I think that is all :D

Ready...

Set...

GO!

I think @ictDirect John needs to give us a little more detail about the brew.

So far, we know it's a Citra Pale Ale (Citra hops and Pale Ale malt). What is the expected ABV/flavour profile? Will there be any additional hopping?

(This has nothing to do with the competition, by the way; I just want to imagine that I'm supping a pint. :drunken_smilie:)

He's not in today, but I'll send him here when he's back.

In the meantime, this is a Citra hopped ale, which was then dry-hopped with Mosaic. Measured ABV at 4.5% but apparently that's wrong as it seems MUCH stronger!

There's a picture of his most recent sample.

And here are some example Pum Clip templates so you photoshop wizards can get the branding all set up. I'm sure you'll be able to find John's face around here somewhere ;)

Isn't that a little personal? Either way, I'd say his kidney function is below par. :p

EDIT: Not sure why the picture isn't showing. It does ruin the joke, somewhat. :(

Technically I had other things to be doing this afternoon, but I'm not sure I had better things to be doing.

Catches the eye at the bar, doesn't it?

Cracking job mate! However, as an ardent Manchester City fan, I'm not sure our Mr Graham will appreciate the overall reddy hue of that clip!

Yeah, but it is going down nicely.
