crispybits Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 Got under 93kg today - weighed in at 14 stone 9 lbs. And my moobs are gone! (noticed when I got out of the shower this morning that if I stand up nice and straight - which is also much easier now I've lost 5st 5lbs - that my chest and stomach make a fairly straight vertical line - that vertical line is still a coupla inches too far forward as there's still a bit of an overhang at the waist but every little victory!) 2
elsiegee40 Posted October 6, 2016 Author Posted October 6, 2016 Well done both! I need to have a concerted push to get my weight back down. I haven't lost all that I put on when I stuffed my back up over the summer.
Joanne Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 I had to get weighed for our life insurance application... came in at 10 stone 11. Yikes!! Need to start exercising because I'm having a lot of shoulder and knee problems... probably from not moving around enough! Saying and doing are 2 different things though. I really wish they would release more pokemon on pokemon go, it might actually encourage me to walk more!
Joanne Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 Right well Sunday everything came to a head. I ate some cake and it made me feel so sick I decided I had to make changes! I've been eating well this week and I've been going to a couple of classes and I went back to the gym, which wasn't as bad I was expecting. I have an incentive, which is if I get down to a 30" waist we can go snowboarding for a weekend. Like, proper abroad and stuff. I saw the dietitian yesterday and she told me I had to avoid lactose and honey for the next 2 weeks to see how my symptoms fare. Hopefully all this will go to plan. Husband has actually been supportive and not suggesting dirty takeaways.
crispybits Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 Good luck Joanne - and take it from someone who has now lost 80lbs you really feel the difference once you get down to a healthy weight! 1
Joanne Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 I'm not massively overweight to be honest, but need to drop a little bit. I'm finding that an incentive is really good for me. Health wasn't good enough hahahah!
hardtailstar Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 Good luck! I need to get in the zone again. 1
mukz Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 So I'm still going strong and actually down to 11 stone 9lb now. Still exercising around 4 times a week between running and playing football now my ankle is stronger. Hope everyone is doing well and staying strong! Congrats buddy! Try adding some 10 min HIIT sessions into your weekly routines if you can, will keep the body burning for longer periods. I weighed 8 Stone when i was 21 with a lean physique, broke my leg playing footy, stopped training and football ever since. 6 month ago i weighed 12 stone with some serious fat! 26% body fat now down to 20% plus 1 stone lighter. HIIT training burns more and last longer than just running. Football obviously is an example. 1
jinnantonnixx Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 I listened to this podcast on my ride home tonight. It's really good stuff. You'll want to listen to this. north-ict Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 Been kickstarting the health thing started eating healthy over the past few weeks and cut out fizzy drinks (no irnbru or pepsi for me [emoji20]) started to make a difference! 1
north-ict Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 I purchased complete greens and complete fruits powder from Sports Nutrition & Bodybuilding Supplements from BULK POWDERS? UK i keep end up forgetting to buy fresh spinach and kale for my morning smoothies so will try it out see how it goes
witch Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 I hope more people are thinking about losing weight and getting healthier. I was taken aback by the number of edugeeks who are overweight! I know it is a bit of a cliche but come on guys! I have cut out bread (mostly) and cut down on the carbs in general. I have lost the bit I put on over Christmas and now the aim is the daughter-in-law's hen do in June. It is in a spa. I'll have to get undressed...Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
HarryMonkey Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 My partner has just bought "Get Control Of Sugar" by Paul McKenna, it comes with a CD too. She says it changes the way you look at sugary foods and helps condition your mind to not want them (not hypnosis). By all accounts it's an excellent book. (It's currently £8 at Morrisons).
Tesla Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 Lost half a stone since beginning of the month. Though I haven't had a good week this week.. 1
Joanne Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 BETT Belly! I went to the gym last night and did chest, shoulders and a little back. My shoulder is feeling much better. Finding it hard to keep my arms up to type though! Ex-PT was there too. The only free bench was next to him and his client 1

I know it is a bit of a cliche but come on guys! I wasnt at Bett (assuming that this is where you saw them) but I fit in this category. I find it really hard to lose weight, Ive tried many times but need to find the right way for me.

The only free bench was next to him and his client Thats the one thing I'm lacking right now motivation to get into the gym or physical activity. I have been keeping my diet more or less on point and am around 12 1/2 stone just need to keep at it is all. Work is good since I'm constantly moving around and not sitting still I try to use the stairs instead of the lifts.

elsiegee40 Posted February 1, 2017 Author Posted February 1, 2017 I try to go to the gym/out for a run three times a week, but my knee won't have it after BETT I'm going to try my yoga class tomorrow and see how I go, but it may be another trip to the physio is required 1

Joanne Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 I'm not cutting anything out. I just make sure I don't eat loads of bad stuff and only drink water, tea and coffee (mostly water). I've been there and done that and for me, it isn't sustainable. I like roast potatoes too much! Hahahah! Couple of weeks and I think I'll start doing a spin class. It's something I enjoyed doing. Also for me, the gym is on the way home, so it's really easy to go for an hour after work
hardtailstar Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 You should be able to go to the doctors and ask to be referred to a nutrionist to help? That would involve paying a huge wad of cash because im not in a category of 'life at risk' or similar. I decided not to pay because I can find a way for free on the internet that works for me. Suppose that was my choice but if I paid for the nutritionist and still not lost anything I wouldn't be happy.

Tesla Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 I have to be careful due due previous injuries (knee from car crash, a bad toe from stubbing it at football 4 months ago and still isn't right, and recurring shin splints) Plan is to eat healthier (less take aways, no fizzy drinks etc) and slowly build on that. Once i've lost about a stone I'll look to start running. I have a rowing machine at home that ive been using 2-3 times a week.
Joanne Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 My Kryptonite is Cheese and the other was pepsi max lol. I love cheese, but a lactose intolerance stops me from eating too much! Want some of my dodgy intolerance genes?
