I go this tip from an Evesham techie as my remote control for my 32" Alquemi TV died (I highly recommend these TFT TVs' BTW!!). If you have a remote control that someone has reported as not working and you need to check it. Simply get a mobile phone with a built in camera. Turn on the camera and point the remotes' IR port at the lens. Press a button on the remote and look at the camera display. You should see the IR lighting up!!

Fantastic tip that.

Haha, or you can just point it at the TV and if the TV doesn't turn on then it's obviously not working. If the TV does turn on however, it is working.

Erm, how about get you off your hind and push the buttons on the front of the TV. If it doesn't turn on the TV is broke. If it does turn on then the remote is broke. :p

Could be the fuse thats blown ya know, i'm getting fed up of the blown fuse in the kettle lead game at present :(
So why are the fuses blowing? If it goes more than once, you probably have an issue that need s dealing with urgently!

The problem? Ahhh a bad batch of fuses! Easily fixed with a bit of rolled-up tin foil  (Obligatory disclaimer: Do not try this at home)
