Going to Bath for a couple of days

I'm off to Bath for a few days and I'm looking for things to do. I've looked at a few lists online of touristy things to do (the baths obviously ) but just wondered if anyone had any suggestions of good bars / restaurant or sites that aren't so easy to stumble upon.

Sadly that very fine establishment closed about a year or so ago.

 

The Theatre Royal is staging a production of The Sound of Music by the high quality BLOGS local am dram group I believe.

Did this a couple of weekends ago and forgot to plan so wandered a bit aimlessly.

 

-The Roman Baths Kitchen was awesome food, but a bit pricey.

-The Abbey was impressive, if you dig that kinda thing, but didn't know about the tour so missed out on that.

-The Baths were a lot more impressive than I thought they were going to be

-Victoria Art Gallery was nice to wile away a bit of time and it was donation entry so very reasonable.

-The indoor old market wasn't that impressive

-The lanes of shops were nice, some nice arcades for browsing

The Pump Rooms were a disappointment! I expected an old Newcomen engine with lots of steam and hissing. When walking around the old buildings look up. The higher up the less changes over the years. Edited November 21, 2012 by laserblazer

I thought along the same lines.

After seeing what prolonged submersion can do to the human skin.. I'd advice not having a bath for too long xD

Try the American Museum at Claverton Manor. Quite a surprise to find it in Bath.
