sparkeh Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 I need to replace a few projectors and always used to use sanyo, of course they no longer make projectors so need a new brand. I recently purchased some Epson EB S11 and the picture quality was awful (very blurry). What is popular with people at the moment (I have a Casio demo unit at the moment that will go up today )
dgsmith Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 Bit silly going for the S-series when they're SVGA? We have recently bought about 8 Epson X11 projectors which the teachers think are simply fantastic - great image quality, clarity and brightness. To be fair, they are being compared to the old ones which were naff but even if reviewing as they are, they're still great units. I wouldn't touch another SVGA projector now.. just not worth it. 1
Ric_ Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 I always liked the BenQ projectors - make sure you get one of the better models and you get lots of extra toys like remote management for less than some of the better known brands. Warranties are also good and they will even send a bloke out to fit a temporary replacement and take your faulty unit for repair!

Although in some areas, due to the additional costs for brackets, poles and electrical points we have installed Hitachi ED-A220/1 projectors. These are stiill available with 5 Year Parts & Warranty, 3 Year Buld Warranty and Free Additional Bulb for cheaper than the Casio.

And they for sure go on and off quickly. The Casio XJA projectors are LED. From my POV, they are fab. No filters to clean, no bulbs to blow; they just need an occasional dusting. Switch on and off instantly, so they aren't left on 'no show'. We replaced all ours with these. And they have a 5 year guarantee Edited September 17, 2012 by elsiegee40

I've found that the throw distances on Casios (XJ-M and XJ-A series) has always been superb. What projectors are these replacing?
zag Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 We actually replaced our Assembly hall projector with a Casio recently. It worked perfectly for such a huge room. The screen must be at least 5 meters, its amazing what they can do! It replaced a 2500 ANSI Panasonic that cost 3k when we bought it new and probably another 1k in bulbs over the last 3 years.
